When it comes to rivalry games like this you can throw out the stats. Anything can happen, that's what makes them so fun. It can go either way. I always give the edge to the home team regardless of how good the visitor is. The line on this game should be zero. I am surprised LSU is not favored to win this. I believe it will go down to the last minute, if not overtime and be settled by 7 or less. I hope 27-24 Florida.
That's not the Tim Tebow I know. If he plays and is still a little cloudy upstairs, he may make some poor decisions or process information a little slowly, but I don't think he would change his game. That's just not his style. The coaches might, but I think even that is a stretch. I think if Tebow plays, it's business as usual. I agree with everything else, though.
We all know they have a good defense but Charleston Southern, Troy, Tenn. and Kentucky are not exactly offensive powerhouses.
It's nice that you are at least consistant, and can find a way to look at the half empty glass all of the time. I could see us losing, but I also feel we have a chance. It must suck going through the day with no hope at all.
It’s simple. All of the arguments FOR LSU beating Florida hinge on the intangibles: Saturday night in Death Valley, the LSU team magically peaking at just the right time, the possible leadership vacuum in the Gators, the wherewithal of a green, yet talented Gator QB, etc. But all of the arguments AGAINST us beating Florida fall much more within the confines of reality and tangibles, such as actual accomplishments this year (and last). That doesn’t mean that we can’t, won’t, or don’t have a good shot to win the game. It’s just that to make an argument for us beating them relies heavily on if’s and but’s.
The two things LSU has done this year that are consistent, 1) Make the big plays when they count and when we need them! The Late TD's against Vandy and Washington, the Goal Line Stand against Miss St. and the Late TD's against Georgia, Punt Returns, Pick-sixes, big runs and pass plays for scores. We have been getting a lot of crap over how BAD we have played, and How we have SURVIVED games, I agree. We have Survived games, but last time I checked, a WIN is a WIN. We have had some Great plays NO TEAM would have been able to stop. I truly believe that our Schedule has not been an easy one. Our team is not fully matured and in sync. We have not had the Luxury of playing Scrub football teams like Texas, Bama, & Florida has. Which includes games against: Charleston Southern, Troy, Florida International, North Texas, Louisiana Monroe, UTEP, & Wyoming, Easy wins in which they were able to gather the style points needed to Justify their position in the top 3. We have faced some tough schools, Washington on the road, Vandy is never a given, Miss St, on the road in the rain after a Air Plane Scare, and Georgia on the road. The 2nd thing I have noticed about us this year: 2) We play as good as the team we are playing against. Hence why we have had so many close games. But we pull out the win. Thats what Championship teams do, they make the big plays and pull out the wins when it counts. Thats what seperates Team Like LSU & Florida from Teams like OU, USC, Ohio State, & UGA(Last Weekend) So if we can play as good as Florida, we still have that chance. While all of you on both sides have put up strong arguments, I agree with both. I will not be putting any money on LSU to win or to Lose, Saturday will just have to run its course and we will see if this a true reality check or not.
Let's just hope the team is not as awestruck with the mighty Gators as you seem to be. I wonder if they are as good as everyone thought Oklahoma, Ohio State, Miami and Ga. Tech were the week before we played them?
I think any Gator fan who discounts LSU or thinks you are not as talented as us is an idiot and that is what irritates me. I hope the Gators win but this could go either way. I almost consider Florida winning an upset with the given circumstances. Iam not trying to be humble or nice, just realistic. Those cocky fans which ridicule and discount the opposing teams talent are fools. That is why I generally enjoy the opposing teams blogs because it keeps the games in perspective. I have learned to enjoy the fans of the opposition and not be such an ahole. It helps me realize all of the cool fans on the other side. It makes the game much more meaningful and enjoyable. Sure I want all LSU fans to die a slow torturous death as they see LSU's night streak come to a tragic end(JUST KIDDING ) Anyhow this is gonna be close and I think with Tebow probably out and being in Baton ROuge yall have the advantage regardless of what the stupid media says.
Tell me exactly what it is about my argument that you disagree with. I'm far from awestruck. But the Tigers haven't shown a whole lot on the field that says they can win. Please, tell the rest of us that we've been missing. Very bad comparisons to make. The only one that even comes close would be Oklahoma, and LSU was playing at a much, much higher level going into that game.
