I'm not saying LSU is going to beat Florida, but here is how I can envision it happening: 1) Florida has to change their play-calling philosophy due to Tebow (whether he plays or not, the play-calling will be different, in my opinion). That may work to LSU's advantage, since even with 2 weeks to prepare, it can be difficult for a team to adjust to a potentially big change. 2) If they put that young QB in the game for a substantial bit of time, and we can rattle him, we can really have a great chance - anyone remember a game against Georgia back in 2003 (I think), when the senior QB was hurt for a few plays? We swarmed their young backup QB, sacking him and really rattling him. 3) LSU's offense takes another step forward - the QB executes a little better (runs the option better, gets rid of the ball a little faster to cut down on sacks), we continue to get #10 involved in more and more plays, we put him and Holliday on the field more often to keep the defense guessing, etc. 4) The defense is able to force the QB to throw, and the CBs lock up the Florida WRs, much like we did to Georgia. 5) LSU gets some turnovers, and can knock the ball across the goal-line when in the red-zone.
I'm banking on the fact that our defense holds up against Florida's offense as well as Florida's defense will do against us. Fair enough? It's Saturday Night in Death Valley. Where dreams go to die. This team is coming in with a lot of confidence after beating Georgia on the road. Charles Scott has to be much more confident now and we need him to be the Charles Scott of old. Florida has shown that they will give up chunks of yardage on the ground (see Tennessee game).
Well LSU will need to play its best game of the year to beat the defending national champions and #1 ranked team in the nation. Now there is a news flash. This team is every bit as talented as Florida. Sure LSU will need to put it all together. Tennessee who sucks gave UF all it can handle. One would Argue UF will ALSO have to bring its best game of the season to beat LSU. My point, keep the faith my friends. We may lose but this team can compete and will. And frankly possibly win outright because LSU IS contrary to popular belief to some very talented, fast and skilled. Maybe a tall order according to Vegas and many of you. But sadly if LSU wins there will be enough of you talking about how LSU will get man handled by our next opponent. Me I say enjoy the ride win or lose, we as LSU fans should be proud of the way our coach and team handles itself. Well I am. Geaux Tigers
I'm not sure we'll win either but I just have a feeling we'll go balls to the wall on some of the play calling. Especially after the beating they gave us last year you know the Tigers are going to be fired up a bit. Being that the game is on Saturday night in Death Valley doesn't hurt either.
being realistic is not being negative. parso's post is how i would hope most tiger fans would feel because supposedly we have some pretty intelligent fans. thinking LSU might lose or should be worried about a game will never make someone a bad fan. and the backlash against rational people who see both sides of the coin need to stop. it's possible to know football, think we may lose a game, and root for your team all at the same time. i promise it's ok.
Here we go again. CParso made a logical post with valid points. DISCUSS THEM on this DISCUSSION BOARD! Make your points to the contrary of his if you disagree...but it doesn't require bashing his post. Dayum. - I think LSU can win...but not to the point where I am willing to bet they will. UF is the better unit, but without Tebow, we don't know if they'll be the typical well oiled machine they usually are. That WILL make a difference. In fact, WITH Tebow, the gameplan for them will have to change unless they're willing to just ignore the kid's health and future life. - Keys to victory- 1)Defense playing like they did against UGA...at least. 2)Offense playing like they did against UGA between the 20s...but doing it between the 20 and goal line too. 3)Running game/OL stepping up even more to keep UF's defense on the field like we did against UGA in the first half. 4)CROWD!!! It's Saturday night in Death Valley, baby!! :geaux:
Don't take it to heart bandit. Just breakin his balls a lil from earlier in the season. Parso knows no harm no foul.
