We finally agree on something. I see us going 10-1, maybe 9-2 next year but that 1-2 losses will be put out into the spotlight and magnified every hour of every day.
You guys will compete for NC next year. Then Les Miles is the second coming down there. You guys got my boy, congrats. I will now be an LSU Tiger fan also.
I got to give ReaganEden a nod of the hat, for a guy who just lost his coach (Allegedly) one who he appears to have a great respect for, to come here and post some of his posts shows you have a damn good character...
Oh no....if Miles wins....it's not that he won....but he "did it with Saban's players" until 4 years down the road when he continues winning in his 5th year.
I wont comment on the Miles hire, have no energy to at this point I am still crushed about the last 2 weeks... (The last play of the bowl game literally sucked every ounce of care and lifeforce I had) I am very proud of the Tigers but I am sure that last play crushed them as well. However I have 2 comments. 1. I have a feeling LSU fans will have a selective memory about the Saban era, they wont remember the UAB's the Blowout losses to Alabama and UGA, Loss to a UF team last year that LSU had no business losing to at home, this Cap One Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, or all of Sabans downs or 2002. Which I think will make Miles have a rough go around here. Flame if you want, but I know Tiger fans to well, they will saying Yeh but when we had Saban.. I love Nick Saban I wont take down his picture, BUT I also realize he had his downs as well, some of them pretty brutal. BUT he had some really great UPs... 2. What motivation does Les Miles have for coming to LSU, has even ever been to Louisiana ??? Yes I know Saban hadnt either and in hindsight we realized Saban sizeds us up as a resume builder, sure it was great when he was here, BUT do LSU fans want someone who wants to be in the South for a long time ??. I dont know I am asking... Personally his desire to be in the Big 10 (Ohio State or Michigan has been public knowledge here in Big 12 country since that is where he is from) In short, I do and will always love the LSU tigers and the state and people of Louisiana. BUT I sure hope we do find our Bowden, Phat Phil, Stoops, Carr or whatever coach that will be at their program for a long time. Maybe Miles is it, he wins and wins, and with the losses we realize its football. I dont know. Just dont know what to think. being in Big 12 country most of my Big 12 friends are having a field day at my expense. But I really dont care. Just ready to move on...
You know, if you're going to single me out, at least be fair about it. I said he would be on a short leash w/ me regarding criticism, but I absolutely DEFY you to point out where I said I would be calling for his head...whether the record is 9-2, 7-4, or WHATEVER. Feel free to post the thread at any time where I said that specifically. You know, I'm beginning to think that it's not necessarily that you're so much a fan of Miles, as it is that you're willing to settle for ANYBODY at this point, because you have low expectations. Well, that's YOUR problem, pal, not mine. I want what's best for this university's football program...no more, no less (no pun intended). And I don't think we should have to settle for just anybody.
Thanks for the info... We need to try and stay positive and make the best of this situation. We have had a long tradition of being great fans and we need to give the guy a chance. Saban would say don't look back, just do your best every play. Let's see what we can do to support the team through this... Geaux Tigers!
