I know. like I said...I played in babe ruth league. and we were good. I was 14 in 78 we didn't make playoffs my senior year in high school. I blame the coach.
little league wasn't played where I grew up. 10 miles east of Lafayette. our parish teams were Cecilia (my team), Henderson, parks, Breaux Bridge, st Martinville and catahoula. in high school, Cecilia High, Henderson players played with us. no high school in Henderson. I figured we'd rule high school, but was very wrong. watching little league, I thought we would have done very well. I peaked from 4th-6th grade. Our pitcher had a nasty curve in 7th grade. By high school, the other players caught up to us. We went 15-9 (3-3 district). didn't make playoffs senior year...or junior...or sophomore.
as you may know, i'm a huge SF Giants fan,.. what's cool for me is, the Eugene Emeralds, are one of the giants' top minor league teams,.. a bunch of our best minor-leaguers just got assigned there,.. eugene's 160 miles away, too far, so i've never been to an em's game,.. but the giants' tv announcers mention eugene often, which i think is neat https://www.mlb.com/giants/news/where-giants-prospects-are-starting-season?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage duck's and em's mascots, and some weirdo,.. the Emeralds home stadium, is Oregon's baseball field, which they lease
MLB to allow pitchers, catchers to use anti-sign-stealing technology during regular season https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id...tealing-technology-regular-season-sources-say ..... Using a pad with buttons on the wrist of the gloved hand, a catcher can signal pitches -- pitch type and location -- directly to the pitcher through a listening device. Up to three teammates of the pitcher and catcher will also have access to the signals, aiding fielders in positioning. It is available in English and Spanish.
