Rose Bowl: Oregon Ducks recognize urgency to end Rose Bowl drought | OregonLive.com

....."If you're going to be the best and win the conference title it's important that you carry the conference flag and win the Rose Bowl,"

And ending Oregon's misery in the big game wouldn't hurt either.

"I think it would mean exactly that – a validation of where this program is and where it's headed," Oregon running backs coach Gary Campbell said. "Obviously, we've been close. And our goal is to win this game. We've been in a lot of these games but we want to win one."

One thing reaching a third BCS game in as many years should assure, guard Carson York said, is that nobody will be frightened by the moment.

"I think both BCS games we thought we had a chance to win it and we were close'" he said. "I think there's pretty much a zero-percent chance of anybody being stuck in awe when we get there. All of these guys here have spent their careers in situations like this. We just have to win the darn thing."

Gdf, ucla scored 31 points aginst you.
Ucla had no coach and were 6-6.
The number one thing the ducks must address in the offseason is defensive linemen.
USC is gonna be back next year. You gotta get ready to play. Great offensive teams fill the seats, great defenses win championships.
One way to get the the best defensive players to come to uo is to tell them they will play as freshmen. They will get on the field as freshmen at uo. That's what will get players to play at uo.
I hate USC. The ducks are the equalizer to USC, a counter measure to say. Good luck ducks for this year and for next year's battle to keep USC as down as possible. The football world is counting on the ducks to keep USC down and lsu to keep bama down. We are the keepers of what is all good with college football with our epic battles aginst the forces of NCAA football evil- bama and USC.

UCLA scored a td on a deflected pick 6, they scored a td on a long flea flicker, and they scored a td on a long pass and simply incredible one handed catch. And Chip gave the Bruins 3 points at the end of the 1rst half with very poor clock management. Mostly our D handled UCLA well.

Duck fans agree that our D-line is lacking,.. quite a bit of sentiment against D-line coach Jerry Azzinaro. Most agree he's a fine coach, but he's a crusty ol salt, so the complaint is, he's not a good charming recruiter.

Personally, I don't know what the trouble is,.. but we lost 4 nice D-line recruits to Cal last year. ? ? ? ?

Chip doesn't like playing freshmen, although more played this year than usual, mostly receivers, and dumbass Cliff Harris' replacement is a freshmen.

I'm with you, the keepers of the light vs the evil forces..[IMG]

"Cliff Harris dismissed from the Oregon football team" | Oregon Football with Rob Moseley | The Register-Guard

    Just announced by the Ducks:

University of Oregon cornerback Cliff Harris has been dismissed from the Ducks’ football program for a violation of team rules, according to the Ducks’ Head Coach Chip Kelly Monday.

Harris was suspended indefinitely on Oct. 24 and has since been prohibited from all football activities, missing Oregon’s last five games of the regular season in addition to last Friday’s Pac-12 Conference Championship.

The Fresno, Calif., junior had been credited with nine tackles and one interception in six games this season after missing the season-opening loss to LSU while serving another suspension.

The 2010 consensus All-American finishes his Oregon career with 61 tackles in 27 appearances, eight interceptions for one touchdown, and returned 38 punts for a 16.2-yard average and four more scores.

that is sad news for Harris - I always hurt for some kids that just never seem to get it. They think it will always happen based on what they think. Being the father of 6 you have to get the kids on board early with the fact that the world is rough and they don't care what you think.

Harris had it all just waiting and all he had to do was just do the simple things. These kids want it all and want it right now.

Sorry Duck - bad for the team but worst for Harris

Yeah, I feel sad about this,.. he struck me as a fun loving, good hearted kid.

Thankfully, he has good supportive parents.

    I wish him the best.
