This from Ted Miller,.. lol, I don't know what's gotten in to Ted lately, he's been throwing elbows at the SEC for the last few weeks.

Not to be defensive about Oregon, but... - Pac-12 Blog - ESPN

It was hard for me to get a perspective on just how good LSU's defense is.

Since the LSU game, the defenses we've seen haven't been a factor in the outcome of our games. The truth is, the defenses we saw last year weren't a factor either, nor the year before. Every loss, and less than stellar performance, could be placed squarely on the Ducks, not the opponent's defense. In other words; if we don't phuck up, Oregon wins big every-time. This includes Ohio State and Auburn.

LSU was different, very different. We could have won that game, we made crucial mistakes, we lost. It took quite a while for me to understand and realize, that we got beat.

The 3 critical fumbles, made it easy to rationalize away,.. we killed ourselves. But, I kept seeing #7 making all-American plays, the same kind that he made against the Ducks. Finally I got it,.. they took it from us, we didn't phuck up so much as,.. LSU took the game away from us.

Oregon hasn't seen a defense who can slow us down since.
I'm not a LSU fan, but I've become a fan of Les Miles.

I ache for a rematch, but I think, LSU is too special this year.

My bet is, you win the crystal football...

I perceive mistakes thusly: there are forced and unforced errors. If they are unforced (i.e., squib punt, missed chip shot field goals when not under pressure, horribly overthrown or underthrown pass that's incomplete or intercepted) then that team shot itself in the foot.

A forced error (hit and drops ball, making a player miss on a tackle, the "right play" for the condition is played well and stopped or a turnover happens) then the opposing team CREATED that error.

Sometimes the best team does not win the game due to unforced errors.

I do believe LSU would win a rematch - assuming both teams healthy and rested. LSU's speed at LB and DB combined with their DL allows them to rush 5 and pressure the Oregon backfield. The Tigers have also been excellent open field tacklers.

Oregon was able to stay in the game with LSU's uber conservative offense. If they open it up with success it would make Oregon a bit less dynamic and more one-dimensional.

They should drop the "speed play calling" and contemplate what they wish to do and run the "fast offense" when they get a play of over, say, 8 yards. They did this but the line of scrimmage was pretty much LSU's.

No matter. I love watching Oregon play.

I was reading comments from fans telling stories about the bad ol days of Oregon football. This one takes the cake.

.....It's great to be in the hunt this year however it turns out and the Ducks will probably be even better next year. This is all great stuff for those of us who weathered the ugly years. The first Oregon game I went to was at Hayward Field in 1966. Oregon was inside WSU's 10 yard line, down 14-13 with under a minute to go and tossed the ball out of bounds to stop the clock on 4th down.

Lsu's speed at the defensive line keeps teams from turning the corner. Lsu's exceptional safety play doesn't allow those long runs. Our backs cover well enough to allow us to blitz when needed. We can stop any offense in America, to an extent. Our problem is can we play offense well enough. Lee hasn't been the same in the second half of the season as he was in the first half and I have reservations about jj keeping up with the ducks if our defense slips a little.

I watched most of the Alabama game, that wasn't the Lee that the Ducks faced. What about Mettenberger, has he played much, is he close to being ready? You guys were pretty high on him before the season.

Granted,.. still, what I saw of Lee against bama, wasn't good. Rw says he's been out of kilt since JJ came back. I'm just curious.

I don't see the confident lee that had the team rallying behind him. I see the lee from last year not the lee from September. Damn shame to what couldve been.
Miles has jj back. Miles loves jj. Jj can not do anything on the field bad enough to not play in miles' eyes. Jj could have is throwing arm in a cast to the shoulder and still play. Mett has no chance of sniffing the field.

Mett apparently will not see playing time unless injuries or double mop up duty presents itself.
