Me either; my diet has gone from an open fire hydrant to a leaky faucet. It’s helped me lose a ton of weight, just have to eat cardboard.

Keep it up, man! It's worth it. And, you don't have to eat cardboard to eat healthy. Just eat smart, and get some good cookbooks. EAsy way to think about healthy eating is related to buying habits: the more you buy in the periphery of a store, the healthier it will be. Avoid foods in the center of a store in boxes, cans, jars, and buy as much fresh fruits, veggies and meats you can. Limit rice/pasta/breads. You may know all of this, just trying to help.

Yep, made that transition a year or two ago (against my will). My wife has helped out a lot. Barely miss all the good foods I used to love.

I never noticed that but it does seem that most of what I buy is on the outer ring of the store. Fresh veggies when I enter the store and turn right. Then meat and chicken, a deli in the back and on to the milk, cheese and beer.

Yeah, the main deal with processed foods is that they tend to be low in fiber and high in simple carbs. That combo promotes high insulin and increased appetite/WT gain. Fiber helps regulate blood sugar/insulin, makes you feel fuller and decreases satiety. Foods in store periphery are fiber rich, and ones in center are fiber low, in general.

In the past they hated me at the all you can eat places but for the last couple of years I just can't eat a whole lot of food. I get full on less and have been mostly eating just one meal a day. Usually a bottle of chocolate milk with a Little Debbie snack cake and a banana in the morning and then a medium sized meal for dinner.

The problem is that given a choice of a bowl of Fiber One (which I've been tried but the name says it all) and a Bowl of Captain Crunch it's Crunch time every time. And they say that Trix are for kids but.....

Fiber rich foods = fresh fruits and vegetables, and other things like beans, quinoa, oatmeal, etc. I don’t eat fiber cereals. Btw, Fibercon = polycarbophil. It’s not bad but doesn’t act the same as fiber present naturally in fresh fruits/veg’s.
