aw fuck,.. it was a good game, we could have won,.. the Ducks were called for 14 penalties and were 1/11 on third down. At one point in the 3rd quarter we were down 17 pts, but came back to take the lead,.. gotta like that.

This is a very young Oregon team, six true freshmen started,.. two at CB, two at WR, one on the DL, another at LB,.. along with 6 sophomore starters. What I really like was the way our defense played, gave up 37 pts, obviously poor in that most important way,.. but the Ducks flew to the ball and hit hard, controlled the run ok, and were very effective at pressuring and sacking the ASU QB,.. really the D seemed much much better than last year. Arizona State had good big receivers who came down with a lot of deep passes,.. that along with our penalties and ineptitude on 3rd down, killed us.



Oregon is 3-1, this loss hurt, it was supposed to have been a win. Next week we play Cal in Eugene, that's doable I think, though the Bears are a surprising 3-1 and gave USC a good game yesterday. After that the schedule gets tough, five games where the Ducks will be underdogs, then finishing up with Arizona and the hapless Beavers. Maybe eight wins this season, more likely seven with a crap bowl. I like this young team though,.. Go Ducks.
