    oh, you exaggerate

yes their defense has gotten worse each year since chip left. so the total will be high on this one. 90% of the money has been on oregon. im not sure the line will go back down. might continue to go up to 5.

Chip didn't have much to do with Oregon's defense,.. our DC retired the year before last, and since then, I agree the Duck's defense has been soft, our defense is very young this year, and I want to believe this is a factor,.. they've been playing somewhat better lately..

Vernon Adams is not an option QB, he can scratch out an occasional first-down, but actually he is not a very good runner,.. not very fast or powerful,.. Adams hasn't broken a long run all year.

He is very shifty and great at avoiding defensive pressure though, and then is amazing at finding an open receiver. Stanford Coach David Shaw likens him to improvisational jazz, saying, "He just starts and you don't know where he's going to go. … It's feel. It's instinct. It's athletic ability."

 Vernon Adams is special in that regard. Too bad he is only 5'9",.. Simply too small, I don't think he can cut it in the NFL

The Ducks are feeling confident,.. the Trojans might just get spanked. I sure hope so,.. beating USC is a very big deal to us, and all of the PAC-12 teams

    Oregon 42,.. USC 32

Even Saban can't be wrong all the time

SEC teams taking a break from conference play this week

    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=ncf&id=14164866

.....No. 3 Alabama meets Charleston Southern, eighth-ranked Florida hosts Florida Atlantic, South Carolina plays the Citadel, Auburn faces Idaho, Georgia meets Georgia Southern and Kentucky hosts Charlotte. Texas A&M was part of this trend, too, beating Western Carolina 41-17 last week.....

.....A few years ago, Alabama coach Nick Saban was the only coach to push for a rule against SEC teams playing teams from the Championship Subdivision. This week, his team will face one in Charleston Southern, a Baptist school of about 3,300 in South Carolina.

So does he still feel the same way?

"I just say that because I think, No. 1, it's better for the fans," he said. "There would be more games of interest and people would be more excited about coming to the games. The competition would be actually better for the players. And I think it would give you a little better idea of who the best teams were."

He knows not playing such games might lead to worse records, but he's OK with that.

"You probably lose more games that way but then maybe you could lose two games and still get in the playoffs," he said. "I just think it would really be better for the fans and the players.".....

 The PAC considers itself the best football conference now. There are lots of complaining about the SEC's pussy weak OOC games. I would say the SEC is still the best, though the gap is closing, but there is no defending the SEC's 8 game conference schedule,.. it is making you guys look bad, and in my way of thinking you fans are getting shafted,.. do you really enjoy watching the Tigers play McNeese State, Eastern Michigan, and Western Kentucky,.. I suppose Syracuse could be considered a worthy opponent, but just barely .

A lot of the PAC's complaining is whining because we won't have a place in the playoffs this year, but there is at least one strong point to be made,.. the PAC is virtually guaranteed 9 more losses a season compared to the SEC. This affects the polls and influences bowl-selection. Our conference Coach's don't consider it a fair playing field letting the SEC have a weaker schedule. IMO the SEC needs to man-up and start scheduling home and away match-ups too,.. again you fans are missing out.

On the flip side,.. my Ducks played Eastern Washington and Georgia State, pretty damn weak, but at least we play a Big Ten School most every year. E. Wash and Georgia St was boring but playing against Michigan State was something to look forward to and enjoy. The PAC is not being noble however, it's being underhanded complaining actually,.. the most compelling reason for our 9 game conference schedule is simply about money,.. the PAC Schools can't fill their stadiums against weak ass opponents. The Huskies and Ducks sell out all of their games, but none of the other PAC schools do. Oregon has a sell-out streak dating back more than a decade, but truthfully, we have had to resort to accounting tricks against weak OOC teams to keep that record intact. I wish we played a 10 game conf. schedule, one strong OOC game and I suppose an easier game OOC game is justified. Just my 2 cents

It's time to expand to an 8 game playoff.

USC, ucla, and notre dame I believe, are the only 3 teams left in the country who have yet to play an FCS opponent. I don't want to play one but I would like to go to an 8-game conference schedule. The Committee doesn't give a shit about the extra game, so why play it?

Husky stadium capacity is just over 72,000. On Sept 12th of this season, they only had 55k for a game against Sac St., less that 60k for Utah St, and just over 61,000 for conference foe kal. Maybe they sold the tickets, but folks aren't showing up in Seattle. As for Autzen....capacity is 54,000 which is just over 50% of what the Coliseum holds. Pac teams rarely make the top 20 or 30 in terms over overall attendance. USC has long been the front runner there. Hell even against Arkie St we managed nearly 80k. ucla has finally made up some ground but I don't suspect it will last.

That surprises me,.. I expected you would support the 9 game schedule,.. the committee should care, they should care a lot

They can squeeze 60,000 into Autzen for the big games,.. but the next time I go off on a worthless rant I'll check my facts.

Hell no. The SEC is never going to go to a 9-game schedule. They have won 8 of the last 10 Natty's. Larry Scott is a moron. He'll continue to lead our conference into absolutely nothing. Why should the committee care? It would be far easier to stop thumping our proverbial chests as though doing it the tough way matters, and just follow the formula that works for the SEC. As long as we skip the FCS schools, I'm all for it.

I'm also in favor of expanding the number of teams in the playoffs to 8.

If there were 8 teams in the playoffs our hopes would have been dashed last week instead of the week before.

Hey it beats reading the other threads on this board. I find the others depressing.
