Ok so I gotta know because while I pulled for the Ducks I can't say I watched them much, unless they played USC or Stanford or Oregon State or the bowl games. How was Chip's offensive line in Oregon? Reason I ask is because the one he has in Philly is getting abused by a fullback who is playing DT tonight. It's unreal I've never seen this before. I've heard of DT's being moved to fullback and staying there, but not putting in a guy who normally plays fullback to play defensive tackle in the NFL.
Hee Haw,.. seeing the look on his face just brightens my day The Duck's have trouble luring in big NFL caliber lineman, Chip eased this problem by recruiting very tall leaner guys, that I think was Kelly's impact on our O-line,.. the nuts and bolts as always were handled by long time assistants. Given that, Oregon's offensive line has always over achieved,.. thanks to our excellent Coach Steve Greatwood, who has been with the Ducks for 29 years. Typically the O line plays better as the season grows on. 2014 had to be considered among his best efforts. Injuries along the trenches tested Oregon’s depth to its limits as he was forced to insert 10 separate players into eight different starting lineups. He recently was promoted and accepted a new title as our "Running Game Coach" in charge of the O line and running backs. Steve Greatwood
More like under-worked in my book. They don't have to hold blocks long with those speedy lil phucks zinging by.
Hi Tiga,.. The Ducks have always been big on using lead blocks to open the way for the RB,.. faster leaner O-lineman are best for this. That said, Oregon's running game the last couple of years has featured larger more powerful backs,.. sophomore Royce Freeman,.. 5'11", 230 is our current starter, a very physical player. He is a speedy phuck when he zings by though. How has Royce Freeman been better than LSU's Leonard Fournette this season? http://www.foxsports.com/college-fo...ter-than-leonard-fournette-this-season-102115 Royce Freeman started as a true freshman
