It is a balmy 81 degrees today with highs over the weekend in the upper 70s. Can't complain about the weather here.

Oregon beat California 55-16 in the worst weather seen at Autzen since the infamous 1980 Toilet Bowl vs Oregon State.

The remnants of a Pacific hurricane which started near Japan is bringing big rain and wind to the Northern West Coast. Here in K Falls we usually are protected against Pacific storms by the Cascade Mtn Range. However, this storm was too big to be diverted, Klamath Falls was rocked by heavy rain and up to 50mph winds for most of two days. I know, a sissy storm by your standards, but a doozy for us. My makeshift greenhouse survided!

The worst weather hit Eugene right at kickoff time, the beginning of the Duck game was wild, 8 official fumbles in the 1st quarter, though there had to be at least a dozen. Our Oregon RB fumbled each of his first 4 carries, but we recovered them all. Cal lost 4 fumbles in the 1st quarter, their freshman quarterback had all the poise of Jerry Lewis.

DAT rolled his ankle on the opening kickoff and sat out the rest of the game, I suspect he won't play next week against Colorado, but will be ready in 2 weeks for our big game in Seattle against the Fuskies.

The LSU game was great, back n forth, loved it,.. though I too am disappointed. Just another crummy typical Oregon game, ahead 41-0,.. pull the starters and coast. The Ducks had 268 yds of O in the 1st quarter,.. ended up with 378 yds of offense for the whole game.

At half time a lot of Oregon fans head for the beer garden and it's kind of hard to lure them back into the stadium for the 2nd half. I think this time they skipped the beer and went home,.. there probably wasn't 10k fans who stayed for the 2nd half.

Oregon is one team I wouldnt want to face at this point in the season if I were a head coach. And being in for the long haul and a possible..err..probable championship run, I don't blame the coaches much for pulling the 1's early in the game, especially with the weather.

Hey GDF, I have you guys making it all the way 14-0 this season.

My reasoning is Mariota is ready to throw the ball successfully in games where the defense takes away your run game. Something you guys have not been able to do over the past 3 seasons (2010-Auburn, 2011-LSU, 2012-Stanford). It just appears the head coach has made it a top priority from what I can see.

    What say you?

I don't have a bead on your defense, as they have not been confronted with a great offense as of yet (I guess that will be UCLA and Stanford down the line). I see you don't have to play Arizona State, another good offense. Washington of course will be the first big test next weekend on the road.

Then it looks like ASU or UCLA in the CG.

This is Oregon's most promising team,..but 14-0 is so difficult. Maybe next year a team can lose 2 games and still have an outside shot at the playoffs...... I think it's time to expand the playoffs to 8!

Mariota is special,.. accuracy, poise, size and blazing speed. This year his accuracy has been off early, only 56% for the season, but he's thrown 9 td's with zero interceptions,..
and Super Mario has run the ball 21 times, averaged 14 yds a carry and scored 5 td's.

I think he's the best QB in the country,.. and seems like a good kid. Marcus Mariota should win the Heisman, but I don't know if his #'s will be good enough because he only plays two quarters a game.

The Ducks are passing more this year, our top 6 receivers returned from last year, but we seemed a little thin at RB,.. nope, 2nd stringer freshmen Thomas Tyner, is going to be a sensation. We are stacked on offense.
