If you where to hear a drummer make a Flim Flam on a Snare it would sound similar to fla fla. It sort of evolved to the term like Flim Flam, since you are alternating your stick high between the two. Since one stick strikes just a fraction before it makes a dit dit sound or a Flim, then when the other strike happens you alternate the stick heights and strike again, thats the flam. Flim Flam. Drummers and our music have very odd ways of describing certain stick strokes. Back in the beginning of drumming they used the sound it somewhat makes to describe it. For example we have a Paradiddle. Imagine a stick in your right hand and one on the left. Then you do a R L RR then L R LL Thats a Paradiddle. PARA being the R L, and the Diddle being the RR and vice versa. Silly but so is physics.
No problem, I am a database of useless information. Of cours the following a. Nonsense; humbug. b. A deception; a swindle. for a definition of Flim Flam. Makes their song even more silly since they are singing about Nonsense or a Swidle....
Does anyone have a photo of Eli falling down on the 4th down play? I wish that ESPN would show that one in their draft coverage.
