The Cruz/Beto race is very tight in Texas. Beto gives me a very strong Obama-type vibe...so I am not a fan. Pete Sessions is going to lose his House seat to his democratic challenger. ETA: Fox just projected Cruz to win.
45 years ago when we got married, I was a moderate Republican. 45 years later she's moved me further to the right.
I like checks and balance too,.. I think of the Senate as adults, the House comprised of teenagers. If the House becomes controlled by the democrats,.. well those damn teens are going to immediately start calling for impeachment,.. they have contrived crimes against Trump already,.. but in my eyes nothing of any significance has been proven. I don't want to watch a dem circus, I want to wait on Mueller. Dem control of Senate = power check, is good Dem control of House = madhouse
I think the next 2 years will be more of the same bullshit we always get with a split Congress. Blame, finger-pointing, stalling, blocking, blah blah blah. So sick of it. It wasn't a massive referendum against Trump and @lsutiga is right, judge appointment is a significant highlight.
The problem is the Dems will investigate instead of legislate. They refuse to work with Trump so the next couple of years will be troublesome. Hope they don't tank the economy with their antics.
Dems winning the House seals 2020 for Trump. All Trump has to do is play solid defense and its a win all the way to 2020. Dems, again, will be too stupid to notice. I am waiting to see the split. Some are looking moderate and will likely spoil Dems attempts to block Trump. I expect Trump to turn more to is Democrat roots now and get some spending things passed. Never liked Cruz and him sucking up to Donald, for political reasons, after the things Trump said about Cruz's family says a lot about his values in my book.
For Texas look at the Governor's race. That is Texas. Cruz ate his booger on TV> I asked my wife who she voted for and she said: "The guy who ate his booger"........
Not a big fan of Cruz but Beto was a card carrying Socialist, and a squirrel IMO. Pete Sessions shut-down all pro-cannabis legislation in the House....phuck him. I'm glad he lost.
