I used the athlete example because these are peak performance “healthy” humans. COVID ain’t killing them.

I suspect, COVID deaths for young people is in line with flu deaths of those who just don’t take care of themselves.

Shane .. ol buddy ol pal .... stop it. You know I'm on your side with regards to mandates and all that ... but the mRNA vaccine is a vaccine, and works quite well ... and in order for a new variant to dodge it, the variant will likely cease binding to human ACE2, so it wouldn't even be a factor anymore. The hype you hear about Delta has nothing to do with the ability of the antibodies to neutralize the virus, but has more to do with other factors.

The only problem I have with the way the mRNA vaccine works, is that your immune system destroys your own cells in the process of establishing immunity. The pharmacokinetic studies show that the uptake and expression of the mRNA and resulting spike protein is mostly in the arm at the injection site, with some making it to the draining lymph nodes, and a tiny amount making it to the liver. However, I suspect that in a few rare instances, it is destroying cells that don't need to be destroyed, like in the brain. I know a few people who have developed dementia after taking the shot, one who was previously infected with West Nile Virus.

A positive of the mRNA vaccine is it was designed to peel back the foreskin (glycoproteins) of the spike exposing the receptor binding site, so that the immune response targets the actual binding site of the virus, thus preventing it from binding. The down side of ALL the vaccines, is they provide NO PROTECTION again infection, which occur in the upper respiratory tract. Only natural immunity can provide secretory IgA antibodies in the upper respiratory tract (or a nasal vaccine). That is why previously infected people who also get a jab are better protected than the jab or natural immunity alone. Natural immunity doesn't seem to form many RBD IgG antibodies, but is better at protecting against the initial infection, whereas the vaccine is better at protecting against pneumonia and systemic viremia, thus protecting against "severe" COVID.

Of course, I am firmly in the camp that low-risk individuals with sufficient Vit. D levels don't necessarily need to get the vaccine. They usually don't even know they are infected. It's also imperative that people get their Vit. D. levels checked!! My mom was on 4000 IUs of some crappy Vit D tablets, and only had a level of 28 ng/ml. Her doctor told her to switch to the soft gels that have better absorption. I told her to get Nature Made to stay on the safe side .. it is the only one with the USP seal of approval.

The vax works so well you gotta get a booster.

Imagine if the vaccines we got as kids we had to keep shooting up.....

There are many that do require boosters over different time frames.

Isn't it funny, we have roughly 75% of the population jabbed, you know with the thing that is supposed to "get us back to normal"

And more people died in the first 8 months of this year than ALL of last year when we didn't have a vaccine!

Tell me again how well it works
