they are not career jobs. the pipeline is a temporary project that was estimated to take 2-3 years to build. so while those jobs were lost, it's not like they were permanent jobs. personally i have nothing against the pipeline as we will need fossil fuels for a while until technology allows us to move away from them, either partially or altogether. that said, killing the project isn't the end of the world as you imply. I have heard this repeated from other Trumpers but the truth is that Biden has allowed for 25,000 asylum seekers to enter the country over a period of time. Another of your talking points is that there is no way to vet these people but that isn't true either. US customs and border patrol have every means necessary to do background checks, see if these individuals were criminals in their own country, etc. If you think that we are going to totally halt all immigration into the country you are crazy. After basic and tech training I went to Kuwait after Operation Desert Storm and did mostly training during my deployment.
