For the record, I agree with that statement. I'm just saying if Texas -had- built enough properly installed, maintained, and winterized wind turbines to cover 100% of it's projected power needs...there would be no outages.
A projection of 1 watt and producing 1.1 watts is not just a whole lot to crow about mr global warming. Enjoy lighting your one little LCD bulb with it. Wind ALWAYS underperforms. It is a verified fact that wind basically produces about 20% of its capacity.
Well .. sure . and unicorn farts allegedly smell like cotton candy. But what you propose is not possible. .. as in big IF!
My suggestion is to just stop arguing with that moron. He reminds me of Rex. Not sure if you were here for him. Regardless, he/she is over the event horizon and not coming back. Foolish and unsubstantiated "facts" and unwilling to budge. Just let it go.
Oddly enough, this is exactly what is being said about the QAnon people teetering on the edge of the Rabbit Hole. I've provided links to back up what I've said. And not once did I feel the need to stoop to personal insults. I leave that to you lot. You're good at it. You're just not good at anything else these days. Everyday there's a new story about someone on the right being foolish about this, that, or the other thing. SSDD.
No technology works 100% of the time. Like you posted, the data shows the renewables failed more than their respective counterparts. Both groups could have been managed better.
Actually, what the data shows that 2/3 wind turbines in particular provided power as opposed to only 1/3 of the fossil fuel generators working. Fossil fuels sources account for 90% of the power in ERCOT. It's my stance, that if Texas had built enough wind power turbines AND winterized all of them to the same standard as those in the north of the state...there would be no outage.
You can slice it how you want, 39% of the failure was on renewables when they only make up 33% of total output.
