Isn't it always that way when you transition to a new HC? If Saban decided to come back he wouldn't be guaranteed to have success. Did any of you really expect guaranteed success by changing coaches? How about we let O fill out his staff and have an offseason. Hell we might even let him play a game with his new staff before we tar and feather him snd run him out of town.

 

Good, lighten up a little bro. Coach O was not my 1st choice, I was a strong advocate for Herman, but after missing on him and Jimbo, I saw the LSU HC position as a stop gap one way or another....... at least we saved some money, appeased the players (and a large amount of fans) and its an easy out when a big name becomes available. It doesn't make it any less shitty that we were not able to hire a big name coach, but hopefully the silver lining is Alleva gets the boot.

And....who knows, Coach O could set the world on fire with the right personnel, which is why this OC hire is critical.

 

I'm not trying to run him out of town. Or tar and feather him. I like him, a lot actually. I hope he wins every game he coaches and gets a statue next to Mike. How awesome would that be to have a coach from Louisiana bring home some championships? I can't think of anything more awesome. But I'm not going to not be critical when I think it's warranted. We can disagree on it warranted or not, that's fine.

 

seriously?? in his short time as the hbc at LSU hes has: failed to score against bama, looked like sh!t against fla with the sugar bowl on the line, let his start player decide whether he was going to play or not, changed his mind publicly about the type of QB he wanted resulting in not 1 but 2 QB's looking elsewhere, stating he was going to hire the "best" OC available, resulting in crickets.....am I missing anything?

no one is "shitting" on O....it appears so far he's doing it all by himself..... but he's from Louisiana, so it's all good??

 

My problem with this whole thing lies with Alleva and the board of supervisors, not with Coach O. I love his passion and enthusiasm, I love that he is one of us, I hope he does a great job.

 

First of all, who beat Bama? Who lost by less than 10? I get it, we didn't score, he brought a way too overly conservative game plan to the table and it didn't pay off, but we played them close and if you cant see that I have nothing more for you. Its not FIRE HIM NOW!! HE LOST TO BAMA! If you're going judge a coach by how they play against Alabama, good luck with that search my man.

I'll agree the UF game was a shit show, but Coach O didn't give up a 98 TD pass, he didn't fumble on the goal line and coach O didn't run the wrong way on the final play. But yes, that L is his fault as the HC because the team should not have been in that position to lose like that.

If your star player is a game time decision and comes to you says coach I feel good I want to suit up, fuck it, let him suit up. Like you said, the Sugar Bowl was on the line. I think he made a bad call by benching Guice but coaches make bad calls all the time and they LEARN from them. Something you wont allow Coach O to do.

He has mixed some words regarding his QB type and style of play, but it sounds like he is transitioning from one style of play (old outdated and doesn't work anymore) to a new style, nothing wrong with that. Recruits were going to flake regardless of who our new coach was or who our OC is. We still have 6 weeks until signing day, calm down.

The best OC available at the time is no longer the best OC available, hence the word "available" - He may still get the best OC available. We shall see.

I am not saying all this as this huge Coach O advocate that believes he is our savior all mighty, but am an advocate none the less and I will defend the guy based on what my eyes saw this fall. An LSU team fired up to play football like I haven't seen a very long time! If you choose to ignore that and ignore the stats and broken records and be a nega, knock yourself out buddy.

 

And I am in agreement 100% - They shit the bed and shit the bed big time. They are all in on Coach O saving their ass
