1st of all. I'm happy you and your wife are OK. CalcoTiger, This proves GOD is an LSU fan and is displeased with the conduct of the USC people. I hope he doesn't have any mercy on thier football team vs Michigan Actually, I use to live in Fresno in the late 80's, early 90's I use to drive a truck through there for LD Brinkman and make deliveries in Atascadaro and San Luis Obispo. I use to go to other parts of California also so I think I've seen all of California there is to see.
I lived in Paso Robles from 87-89. I left Cali 3 months before the 89 quake that everyone remembers because of the timing...during a World Series game in Candlestick Park. I was fortunate enough to never have experienced an earthquake.
Sounds like I moved there right around the time you left. Actually, now that you mention it, I moved to Fresno right after that quake. I knew Fresno was pretty safe. I have been in Tremors in California and Alaska. Nothing else though.
You say you drove a truck? That couldn't have been much fun going up and down that Cuesta Grade in a rig! I hated it in a car, much less in a semi.
LOL, It wasn't like a big rig, it was a bob tail. Like the penske trucks you use to see. You just drive and take it easy, the only thing you could do. Its not like I wasn't getting paid to do it.
This is my second of any size. I was sitting at my computer one night and all the sudden my chair starts hopping around and at first i thought the people upstairs were having some wild sex. Then i realized it was an earthquake. It was a 5.4 but hit a little closer. I guess this one was a little farther away than i thought but we still felt it. I have been 75 yards from a tornado and saw massive damage at my parents house in Louisiana . Mother nature can sure put the fear in you. God's letting us know he has the power and he will use it . Probably pissed at USC for the way they been acting. Geuax Tigers
I'm about 80 miles away and felt it roll pretty good for about 45 seconds. The blinds were shaking and stuff moved around on the shelf in my office. I was on the 3rd floor. Our building is on rollers. That's like feeling an earthquake in Baton Rouge that just occurred in New Orleans. Very similar to what is going to happen on the night of January 4, 2004.
We felt it in the beach areas of LA, but not too bad. Nothing fell from the walls or anything, but in the high rises they said they felt the building sway. The So Cal Alumi chapter is pretty good (and they have large numbers). I don't go to many events, but I never miss the crayfish boil and I've made a few viewing parties. This year LSU So Cal Alumi went to the SC/ORE St game wearing purple and gold while tailgating right there on SC home turf (it was a blurb on the news).
