I'll most definitely be there. My girlfriend and some buddies in Houston are making the trip as well.
Man those mixed drink pitchers at cheap shots really did me in. I was up in Alabama to watch one of my friends graduate needless to say after hitting up Houndstooth and cheapshots the night before I was unable to make it to the graduation. This time around I'll do my celebrating after the event.
I guess you're one of those people who blindly hates fraternity/sorority people. I know a lot of those people, they hate the greek system and lump everybody together when they usually don't know 2% of the greeks. I've never understood it, I have absolutely no problem with non-greeks but for some reason a lot of them hate greeks. Most of this hatred seems to come from the people that were not offered a bid by any decent fraternity/sorority because they were complete tools. Also, I've noticed people develop a hatred for the greek system because they see the fun that goes on in it and they become jealous. The band parties, the swaps, the cocktail parties...it's all so much fun and a lot of people realize what they missed out on so they hate on greeks because they couldn't be a part of the fun. It's sad. Like I said, I don't care if you're in a fraternity or sorority or not. I don't dislike someone, without knowing them, just because they're part of a group. A lot of people not affiliated with the greek system do just that, like you.
The :hihi: :thumb: :hihi: means i was JK. I have nothing against fraternities/sororities so there is no reason to be defensive. The only time i had a run-in with some was at a bar in Lafayette and they were starting some stuff with some other guys that we were shooting pool with, other than that i can not say anything bad about u guys.
Most people arent jealous...Im not for sure. I've been to plenty of parties and never had to "pair up" with a girl. I have been to a few off campus frat parties and had fun and I have hung out with a few...but, a lot of frat guys/sorority girls dont look twice unless you have shaggy hair, shorts 5'' above your knee (with a polo shirt tucked in), sunglasses with the rope around your neck, and a pen and pad (omg please explain that). Some are cool, but most are what gives the greeks a bad name...Most come from wealty families who have had everything given to them in life, and they think they are somewhat better or "cooler" than you. It's not that they are in a frat/sorority, it's their personality that sometimes changes when they join...I know from exp because one of my friends got sucked in and never comes around anymore. It's a shame.. LOL
It is 5:15 wensday afternoon here in northeast Georgia and I just got off the phone with a friend of mine and he told me to pack my bags and meet him in Alabama. I will be there with the rest of my purple and gold nation to watch the a$$ whooping of the elephants. :grin: :geauxtige
I will be there with all my old high school buddies trying to cause as much havoc as possible. I plan to be drinking from the time I get there till well past the game.
