Did you not see this year where OU/USC were very high and won out while you were way back and couldn't over-pass them? Being highly ranked early helps teams obvioulsy stay higher up then teams out in the distance.

Last year Aubies loved USC and thought they deserved part of the NC....now they hate him and still think they are over-rated....:lol:
Oklahoma should not be anywhere near the top 10. They are losing 8 of 11 starters on offense alone (and I think another 7 or 8 on defense), including the almighty important QB position. Peterson will find tough sledding with an inexperienced O-line and passing game. I place them around #15-#18. LSU being #10 is about right. I would have had a Saban led team about #3. I would have a Miles led team about #12. The defense will be taking quite a blow unless this man smartens up and hires someone other than his DC from OSU for the DC position. And that does not look likely.
I think OU will be top 10 next year mostly because of their schedule. They get TCU, Tulsa, and @UCLA for the OOC schedule. That's almost a sure 3-0 right there. Then in conference, they get Kansas State, @KU, vs. Texas, Baylor, @Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, @Texas Tech. I'd have to say that it would take a major disaster to lose 3 of those. The Texas game is probably the only one that they won't be favored in. I think Texas will be a better team next year. It looks like we'll be returning 9 defensive starters and 8 offensive starters. The only problem with that is that our schedule might be the toughest in the country. We play @Ohio State, vs. Oklahoma, Texas Tech, @Oklahoma State, @Texas A&M.
I seriously don't get why an obviously downgraded team like OU will be top 5 based solely on last year's performance. All the more reason to institute a top 25 poll after the first 3/4 games are played.
