I read stuff like that and it kinda worries me, but this guy has been coming to LSU games for years. He doesn't miss a home game. I think he has been to almost all of them? Like someone else said, book it....he'll be a tiger.

He will see that LSU is a program on the way up...and Miami is in turmoil. If he wants to get a ring (or rings...), he'll be a Tiger!

Does anyone know what he has said after his LSU visits? I find it kinda hard to believe that we may not get the best offensive player(Doucet) and the best defensive player(Sanders) that the state has to offer. That would not look good for our progam letting the best go elsewhere. If anyone has any inside information on what these two are really going to do, please share.

He has already said he will not anounce until January and that he plans on taking all of his visits. Time will tell, he appears to be a very quality individual in addition to an incredible athlete.

Eleven scholarships left, LSU has 14 verbals and several coming in for visits. Inside info is harder to get with this coach ... but not impossible. Early will be an LSU Tiger ... we're not so sure about Sanders. Sanders was pressed again recently for a committment and he didn't give one. There's a protective parent involved who's keeping recruiters "at bay" ... supposedly until after the season. LSU got a committment almost immediately afterwards from Stoltz, read it anyway you want. I read it ... Saban ain't waiting ... and I feel Saban shouldn't have to wait. Either this kid wants to come to play at LSU ... or he doesn't. Anyway ... the word is they'll push him again, SOONER (pun intended) rather than later. Not a great year for Mike Linebackers (ILBs). Sanders claims speed anywhere from 4.45 to 4.6. The time is 4.6. He has dropped weight during this playing season and is around 210# now, down from 230+ in all the listings. Now, it's Oklahoma & LSU with Texas sneaking in the picture. don't get the same read on Sanders or share Don Long's enthusiasm. Sanders has taken no official visits and will not take his Oklahoma and LSU official visits until his FB season is over ... the broken record playing again. When will the FB season be over? West Monroe just scraped by Lafayette High this past weekend, and meet Wayne Reese's McDonough 35 bunch this week in the 5-A regionals. They may go another two weeks (tops) in the playoffs and make it to the 5-A Semifinals in early December.
After that, no more fence straddling ... this kid better decide.
LSU or Oklahoma ... what the hell would you do?
Also, West Jeff got beaten in the playoffs this past weekend ... Marlon Favorite (DT) & Jeremy Jones (TE) have been offered.
LSU really wanted Favorite ... a big 300+ DT with 4.8 speed
and still may sign him ... but Marlon's been dragging his feet ... especially after LSU signed Glenn Dorsey & JC Star Claude Wroten
He doesn't wanna sit on the bench for 3 years ... I think he may be out of the picture ... man we're getting some real animals ... next few years are gonna be awesome.

Have had this conversation with Don Long
(FROM HIS LATEST LIST ... my latest)
Early Doucet, WR, 6'2", 210, ST Martinville 70-30 --------Tiger
    Luke Sanders, LB, 6'4", 220, West Monroe 80-20 -------LATER/UT
Craig Steltz, SS, 6'2", 200, Rummel 80-20 -----------------Tiger
    Jay Lucas, RB, 6'2", 200, Redemptorist 80-20-------------Tiger
Marlon Favorite, DT, 6'2", 300, West Jefferson 70-30----Trojan
Charles Alexandria, DE, 6'5", 280, Breaux Bridge 80-20-Semenhole

That's the latest I've heard. Sweet songs and promises for the Recruiting Bash. See you in February at the Bash ... should be the best one yet ... I never miss 'em ... will be the big 6'3"-300# (40-time classified) bastid wearing the LSU FB shirt with "Ramah" on the back ... first in line for the chow ... Be there or be square.
