Not sure what @tirk is drinking to bring in the new year but I'll pass on it. I think it looks much better. Some depends on whether or not Beckwith comes back. Wisconsin @ Lambeau Win Wisky losses QB & RB won't be ready for the first game. Jacksonville State Win Mississippi State Win MSU loses the only weapon they have. @ Auburn Win It will be a typical LSU-Aub game but I think LF7 and a Missouri (first time since they joined the SEC) Win @Florida Win I don't see them having any better O than this year. We were more physical this year and will be again. Southern Miss Win Ole Miss Loss This will be a tough one. Kelly will be back but I expect the OP D to be weaker. I think it 60/40 we lose but there is a chance. BYE Alabama Loss Again its hard to call this anything but a L. However I think as usual we play much tougher at Tiger Stadium. If we beat OM this is a critical game and again I see it 60/40. Arkansas Win Finally South Alabama Win @A&M Big Win Faggies could be a real dumpster fire by then. 10-2 possible 11-1 and SECW champ.
I'd mark Bama as a loss but it doesn't have to be. They seem to improve through the year while we regress. Aranda will be the wildcard for LSU next year. How much improvement will we see in year one? Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, and Arkansas are toss ups. I think LSU wins the rest. I think we'll go 10-2 with loses to Bama and the piggies.
Yeah, I agree with this. Don't see us losing to FLA, but piggies after Bama is always a possibility, unless CLM gets his 2007 fire back this year.
Alabama's defensive starters consist of 7 seniors, 3 juniors (Eddie Jackson, A'Shawn Robinson, Reuben Foster) and 1 freshman. Not to mention, 2 senior O linemen, 1 senior quarterback, Drake and Henry probably gone and 1 senior WR. Even if A'Shawn Robinson, Eddie Jackson, and Reuben Foster come back, they lose Ragland, Deval, Lake, Reed, Lee, Jones, and Smith on D. Their entire starting Defense sans 1 player could be gone. Which is why I said if it's gonna be any year for Les, it's gotta be next year, and if he doesn't, he will have squandered the best chance he is ever gonna have. With what LSU has coming back and with what Alabama has leaving, it will be the best chance he has ever had.
If LSU wins the West then Fournette will win the Heisman because LSU will be competing for a national championship. I have to agree, if LSU doesn't win the west (even if they don't beat Bama) then Miles should be fired.
I'm on board with most of this, but I think Ole Miss could be a win(seems you think the same based on 60/40). I'm still undecided. Kelly may be back, but I think Treadwell, the Nkemdiches, and Tunsil will all be gone. We should also have a functioning defense against them by then. Florida and Arky are toss-ups, but I think they land our way given Florida's current state of the offense. I think they gradually become more competent on O and less competent on D.
That's what I'm thinking too. Kelly is good but he makes mistakes. The key is disguise. Show blitz, drop 8 and hope your front can't get pressure. Ole Miss has no running game. If LSU and Les Miles had any type of good track record when it comes to developing the quarterback position, they would be the clear cut favorite to win the West next year. If Alabama had LSU's roster going into next season they would easily be ranked number 1. But Les being Les, LSU will probably be ranked in the 12-15 range. As much as the pundits love to say great things about Les Miles, the fact is they all think he is a joke and they don't respect him, because if they did it would show in the preseason rankings.
NOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! And worse than this thread, the kid from Stanford is gonna win the Heisman, too! And that sux!
There is a lot to be excited about with much of the team returning. I see White, Beckwith, and Dural leaving early. I see the others returning. I really hope Beckwith returns. LSU will certainly be hurting at LB, no matter who we bring in this year, they will be true freshman. If Aranda wants to move to a 3-4 D then we could move Teuhema and Clark as mentioned. The big issue's will once again be QB and Miles. I hope Etling comes on strong because Harris has not evolved enough and has shown no signs of getting it. Although I doubt Miles starts Etling since he isn't a running QB. If Miles is dead set on playing a running QB then he needs to run more of a spread option attack. LSU must beat Bama.
