I know what you are saying about top coaches not wanting huge buy-outs. But I think this situation is slightly different because I agree with you that Tuberville does not completely trust the administration at Auburn (nor do I blame him). I think he wants this buy-out so that he is assured of not being fired if he loses 3-4-5 games next year. I wouldn't want him gone, but there are some in the administration that would!

One thing you might not know about his contract proposal is that the buyout goes down each year. (I'm pretty sure of this.) So the buy-out would not be so huge after 3-4 years, so Tuberville would be able to leave bc most schools would be able to afford the new buyout.

I think this huge buyout assures him that he would not get fired next year while trying to rebuild, but it would be small enough in a few years to give him the freedom to leave if he wanted to in a few years.

    Do you agree?

If Teletubby and his enormous ears come to LSU in any other way besides as a visiting coach, someone please shoot me..............................................

There should be absolutely no way in hell his name should be connected with the LSU opening....he has done nothing at Auburn to warrant our job (besides this year), and he is known to bolt when things do not go his way.

Tell Tubby and that SOB Sexton NO THANKS!

Focus on Mike Riley, Les Miles, and Brent Venibles!!!! Got It?

    I know what you're saying

I'm talking about a one way buyout though, like what Saban and the rest of these top coaches have. If they get fired, they get so much money........like Saban's I think was guarenteed like it is in Miami. But if he leaves, he owed LSU nothing.

Carrol has no buyout for him to leave and neither does Spurrier. But if they get fired, they get money. If you want a coach with leverage, that's how it works.

In my mind and opinion, Tuberville is one of those "leverage" coaches now and that's why he's using the LSU deal to try to get a no buyout, less buyout, more money or all of the above like Saban did every year.

The one way buyout thign sucks I agree but that's the way it is now with these guys. That's why I was shocked when I read that Tub's was gonna have a buyout if he left of $7.5 mil. With the attempted coup last year and going undefeated this year, if I was Tub's and Sexton, I would say NO BOUYOT for me if I leave. But I get fired, I want 7 mil in cash.

I know what you are saying now. I didn't know you were talking about a one-way buyout.

Those are most definately nice for a coach to have, but I don't think Tuberville is in that group of coaches yet. (yes i will admit it!) He is a good guy, but hasn't proved to be in the upper-echelon yet. But I am glad he runs a clean program, for that I am very very grateful.

    I hear ya.

I like Tub's as a coach to be honest. The off the field stuff, or on the field with cigars and crap peeves me a little. But I don't think he's going anywhere. He's just bucking for a bigger raise than what has already been reported or something.

Hope you guys win the Sugar Bowl tear VT a new one. Just hand it off to Caddy all night.

I can see Bertman re-thinking his coaching decision based on [email protected] saying he didn't like that man ;)

Can we please quit it with the whiny email campaign where everyone is so mortified by Tubby. It has taken on a life of its on. A few guys stomped on the eye and smoked cigars after kicking our ass and now he is the most classles person on the planet. People don't even really know why they don't like him anymore. Just this vague classles, disgusting... It is just a great story with out a lot to it. Stop clogging up Skip's email. He has already heard plenty about how "we couldn't stomach him, yada, yada." Tubby is not a candidate. Now if we have to slip to our B league coaches I would expect you not not bitch if we start losing some games. You can't handicap Skip with who you can and can't handle then expect him to get the most qualified candidate. He is not my top choice but he is a lot better than some out there. Forcing Skip to scratch a qualified B list candidate that is qualified is asinine. Fire away.

    Fully agree

I see people hoping for Spurrier on here but he did the same kind of stuff. I saw where somebody said Tuberville ran it up on us with Rudy.....look, it was our job to stop them from running ball down our throats and we didn't.

Spurrier beat us by 50 and then you know laughed about it after he didn't get a second interview from us. But we'd all take him.

Well I sat over there in Auburn in the rain and watched the hated Tubby beat Saban and our a$$e$ 31-7. We could do about 50 times worse than Tubs.

Auburn has become our biggest rival due to Tubby's classless acts. His lack of integrity go far deeper than the eye incident. He has run up the score needlessly on opponents, lied about our fans,
His players fought with our band member with him chuckling.
He supplies bulletin board material to opponents "Hey college xyz you've never seen anything like our offense".
Smart very Smart. Yeah this is what we need at LSU.

It's a slap in the face that we're even considering him.
I've been going to games for 32 years. You don't like my whining
    That's YOUR problem not mine!
