This is not correct, NS would've left no matter what. There were more factors than money involved I assure you Got It?
I realize that he has an old contract and is working on a new one with a reported $7.5 million buyout. My question is why would any coach in their right mind who just went undefeated after some program hangers-on tried to run him out of town, accept a $7.5 million buyout? I'll bet when the contract is completed, it won't have a $7.5 million buyout. So you don't think that Tuberville, who had to get up on TV and cry and beg to keep his job, wouldn't love to go undefeated at Auburn, then high-tail it for $2.5 mil a year to LSU and leave you guys with Borges as your head coach? You're living in a dream world. In fact, if I had been Tuberville, I would have given you guys the finger last year as we all watched Petrino self-destruct down there. He would love nothing more.......EVER!!!! If his buyout if $3.5 mill or whatever and LSU wants him (he obviously would)want to come here for multiple reasons) he'll be gone in a heartbeat. It's already been said by a source close to Tuberville in an article out of Birmingham.
Tub Perhaps it is just Sexton trying to get Tubby and himself more $$$ However the possibility does exist that it could happen and I want to let the Administration know how I feel NOW. ANYBODY I mean ANYBODY would be better than Tubberville. If you feel the way I do you should e-mail Skip. [email protected]
I'm sure that's it We all know Sexton now and to get everything you want out of a contract, you have to have other interested parties. No other interested schools, no leverage. That's why I said he won't have a $7 million buyout when that contract is signed.
If we've learned anything from coaches it should be that they are looking out for #1. We should take comments about offers with a grain of salt. "I am not interested in that coaching position" could mean A. I am very interested but don't want to jeopordize my current job till I get the offer. B. I am not interested but want to leverage this offer to get more money at my current school. C. Not interested but Hey it's nice to be flirted with especially since the Admin at Auburn treated me like ****.
Did you see my post? We all know Sexton now and to get everything you want out of a contract, you have to have other interested parties. No other interested schools, no leverage. That's why I said he won't have a $7 million buyout when that contract is signed. Somebody wrote that it was just Sexton trying to get what he wanted from Auburn and I said I agree. Nobody was talking about wanting Tuberville so Sexton puts out that Tuberville is interested in LSU. That way, he has leverage and in the end gets no $7.5 mil buyout or more money...whatever. That's what I said....follow along.
Tuberville I bet it will. Buy-outs work both ways. That is the money we would have to pay him if we fired him. And the money he would have to pay if he left. He has already stated numerous times how he loves Auburn and wants to coach here for many years. This would be protection for that. , When did he do that? When asked about his job security after the Alabama game, he stated, "I don't care, we just beat Alabama!". He kept is cool throughout the whole process, and Auburn fans respect him greatly for that fact. He never once tried to rub it in Auburns face. Also, he had the chance to give us the finger last year, he did not. As I stated before, he loves Auburn and has a good thing going down here on the Plains. He runs a clean and classy program. There were 2 mistakes his first years in Auburn and you guys still hold that against him. You can't name anything recently that anybody criticizes him for. If he leaves anytime soon, (which I doubt he will), he would not love leaving us in a bind. He has a special bond with our players (as you can see by Carnell, Ronnie, and Carlos all returning last year after he talked with them) and he would wish them the best and sincerely mean it. This is not true either. That article out of Birmingham had bad sources. He has not mentioned onec that he would accept it. The only quote he has stated publicly is this... “I am not interested in any other positions,” Tuberville said on Monday afternoon. “I have agreed in principle to a new contract with Auburn. I look forward to many more years at Auburn. This is the best coaching job in America.” Hopefully this cleared a few things up for you. I don't know why you think you know more about what Tuberville is feeling about Auburn than people who have been around the situation.
I'm not the one floating his name out there Tuberville and his agent are. I know a buyout works both ways but why would a person WANT or choose to have a $7.5 million buyout? They wouldn't. You think coaches who have leverage ASK for a $7.5 million buyout? No, and that's what this whole thing with Tuberville is about. Sexton has placed some unnamed source who said to papers that Tubby is interested in the LSU job. That creates leverage...........leverage helps get what you want....whether it be more money or no buyout. You don't see that? And if Tuberville and Sexton finish this deal with a $7.5 million buyout included he's a bigger idiot than I thought he was. A coach with leverage, i.e. Saban, Carroll, Spurrier.....they have no buyouts. You either take that or leave it....and schools are taking it because they want the coach.....understand. Oh, and all the "I love Auburn and Auburn loves me" crap is nothing but talk. What's he gonna say? But if he is a human and he seems to be, after being embarassed by your beloved Auburn and the powers that be in that village he'd be a fool to not stick his thumb in the eye of Auburn for a sweetheart deal anyday. I don't know Tuberville and I don't know Auburn. But I know negotiating and words mean nothing. Signing on the dotted line means everything along with leverage........these coaches have very little loyalty to begin with but Tuberville after being humilated and crying on TV to save his job, has less than the average coach for Auburn. If not, he's not a man.......
