LSU has been wearing white at home since the late 1950s (except for that unfortunate NCAA mandated stretch from 83 to DiNardo). To me, that's tradition. Plus I think the whites look SO much better than the purples.

Having said that, the problem I am now having with the jerseys (white or purple) is that the way they are now being manufactured prevents the shoulder stripe from going all the way around. Now it is just a patch on top of the shoulders and looks awful. These stripes are called "UCLA style" and all the teams that wear them have the same problem (Indy Colts and UCLA among them).

I would hope that with all the money poured into the LSU football program someone could figure out how to bring back the full stripe. But all of this is FAR less important than HOW the Tigers play in whatever uniform they wear.

I love the white jerseys. They should just continue wearing the purples for the second and third OOC games.

White for heavens sake! Two games in purple is already too many. I've emailed Skip.

White is the tradition. If Coach wanted THE TEAM to wear purple I am quite sure he would make it happen.

    Enough about color...JUST WIN!!!!!!!

There is nothing 'traditional' about purple jerseys at LSU, unless you happen to have been growing up in the '80's.

    Purple jerseys are blasphemous.

About the purple jerseys---I'm didn't grow up in the 80's. I've been a tiger fan for over thirty years and I'd love to see the purple jerseys at least half the time. The white are nice, crisp but a little tedious, and our colors ARE PURPLE AND GOLD, NOT WHITE AND GOLD. And let's face it, the white jerseys haven't been exactly a lucky charm. A lot of good they did Dinardo. You whilte lovers need to loosen up and let's go half and half. This is purpleloungefly's mother.

Jazz up the unis Oregon style....

We need to dump tradition and get something new started, eye-catching. All purple or all neon gold/yellow. something that today's elite athlete will want to wear on Friday night, and by the way they are only 17-19 yrs. old and they will not be what a bunch of 35- 65 yr. old men like. Just another idea, why not lead the pack instead of following tradition. I like the white jersey's by the way, and don't care if they keep them. It's just that purple and gold doesn't work except if you're near Baton Rouge where people understand that it is for LSU. I hope this isn't considered blasphemous, but I like Auburn's colors. They work well, as do several other college color schemes. Purple and gold, sorry, however I am still a LSU Tiger through and through.

I like the purple. Remember Dalton Hillard wore purple? When did the eye of the tiger become tradition? - the 80s just like the jerseys.

Yeah, that neon and purple thing will work well with our new 'tounces the cat' logo. Then we can start playing in a dome. After that , we can apply for a new arena leage team license. Hopefully, the players will start wearing huge gold chains around their necks, with dollar signs, or mercedes emblems hanging from them.

    Jees, you people are lost!
