Now Rix is being questioned at FSU land whether he should start this weekend or not.....sounds like they are about 3 years late in making that move.

Just think had Bowden had a decent QB following Weinke, he could have had 1 or possibly 2 more championships in his collection.

    Rix

Rix being mentioned as a serious Heisman candidate just shows how blind the media types are. Heck, the only people here in Tallahassee that think he can do the job is Jeff B. and daddy. Most feel that they guy has made absolutly no improvement in the 3 years that he as been the starter and should be run out of town.

    And they are correct.

The only glorious moment he has had was when he threw that hail mary to P.K. Sam last year against Florida to win the game in the waning moments. But of course we all know the refs handed that game over to FSU. So he should have lost that game too and then FSU would not have been anywhere close to a BCS Bowl game. Maybe then Bowden would have had some deep thinking to do regarding his QB situation in the offseason.

The backup must really suck, that's all I can think of.

While Greene is not a Heisman standout type of player, he has had a good career to this point.

It is unfortunate that LSU fans have only seen him behind an offensive line that was only comprised of rookie Freshman and Sophomores.

Greene has already won 34 games as a starter and will very likely top the 40 mark.

The Georgia record is 36 held by John Rauch. The same John Rauch that invented the West Coast Offense.

I think Mauck was a vastly underrated QB. He wasn't flashy, but he was smart, protected the ball well, read defenses well, and could make the plays that needed to be made. He only started a year and a half, and his record was 18-2. That's pretty freakin good, especially in the SEC. Plus, he threw 28 TD's last year, and only 14 INT's, and I remember that at times he had a higher passer rating than Eli or Mr. Greene. And he's really impressed Denver in training camp and pre-season. I just never saw him get the props I thought he deserved, so I figured I'd give him some.

However, I was really intending to write about David Greene. I agree the guy is a pretty good QB, but Heisman? I just thought all the media hype was funny this preseason. Didn't he only throw 13 TD's last season? Mauck barely got any media attention, and he threw over twice as many. I just don't see how those numbers justify the hype. But it'll die down soon enough, probably right after he faces the LSU D again.
