1. Amen.
  2. Weren't there like 155 murders and over 50000 rapes in the SuperDome? Oh wait...wrong thread.
  3. No it happened right next to it. LSU should really put LSU security people on the busses to make sure they take the correct route and help make sure something like this is made more unlikely. It became almost like a feeding frennzy.

Tell that to all of the ladies on the bus. We're lucky some over protective husband on the bus was carrying a weapon.

  4. No.. that was at last year's Bama game. :thumb:
  5. I would agree. For many years , Baton Rouge has been a favorite venue for many in my family and our friends. The past few years have seen that number dwindle due to the deterioration of the "LSU experience." It's just a few bad apples, but Red55 nailed it when he stated:
I'll speak only to my own personal experiences ...... it's frustrating to have your family treated that way and observe the cops doing nothing to curb that type of behavior .... the type of behavior that causes one to fear for the safety of their family.

It doesn't take away from the wonderful experiences I've had tailgating and discussing football with a multitude of LSU fans, but it has forced us to take many precautions that we never considered in years prior.
  6. MOST of it is the students who may never have attended an LSU game with their families growing up. They find themselves away from home with access to alcohol at one of the biggest parties ever... what do you think is going to happen? I can't get over how the students' sportsmenship degrades year after year after year. It's not all of the students, but there are some really deranged individuals that do NOT deserve to be representing this great school. I went to LSU games as a kid with my family. It became something important to me. When I go to the game, I go to watch and root-on my Tigers, not to get intoxicated--that is what after the game is for. I tell ya what.. me and my friend were yelling as loud as we could from start to finish. I overheard quite a few people make remarks about us being "drunk." BULLCHIT! We were rooting on our team like we always do, sober as sober can be.
  7. Oh yes, since I am railing the students, they get an "F" for the fourth quarter and OT.... they were dead silent... It seemed like I was the only one in the stadium yelling... Students: when Tennessee is crammed in the corner by y'all section, YELL! Yell louder than you ever have in your entire life... they just may drop the ball, or not be able to get the play off...
  8. JayB,

My experience has been different. Most of the problems I've personally experienced have not been students, but rather it's been two types.

The first type is the 30-something loner that is clearly inebriated and taking it to a level beyond what would be considered sportsmanship. These guys can be ignored or dealt with without much risk.

The other type are the rowdies that hang out in the remote parking areas. I get the impression that many of these folks don't even attend the game, they seem to be there "just for the party." These are the groups I see the law enforcement folks are unwilling to deal with, especially following the conclusion of a night game.

Nor is it reasonable to expect (in today's world) for fans of either team to attempt to control the behavior of these rowdies - it's a risky proposition because their pack mentality knows no fear. IMO, it's these few groups that are the problem, not the students or fraternities ........ and LSU deserves better.
  9. I give them an F for starting the wave.
  10. I'll defend the LSU fan base on this bus story.... :dis:
It was the hurricane stupid! :hihi:
