Re: 5Star DT William Campbell He was in town for the Ole Miss game. He has narrowed it down to USC, Michigan and LSU and will be taking three more visits.
Re: 5Star DT William Campbell We're in the mix too...Not really counting on it too much, but we're there.
Re: 5Star DT William Campbell Sounds like WC had a great visit and was some what surprised at how well he fit in down here. Sounds like LSU, USC, and UM are about even at the moment. Playing time and UMs total downfall is a BIG plus for us right now. Not having visited USC yet is the only negative at the moment.
Re: 5Star DT William Campbell Who is saying that? Heard a few reports and it looks like he is just enjoying the visits while he can. He even made a slip up saying he was going to UM with 2 of his buddies from Cass Tech but then corrected himself. IMO just another prospect who committed early and wanted to experience the recruiting ride. He is UM all the way still.
Re: 5Star DT William Campbell I read the updates about his visit and it was positive but it does not change what I heard in other updates from the visit. You expect to hear good things after a visit. Not crucifying you, just pointing out the fluff and the slim chance we actually have with him.
Re: 5Star DT William Campbell While I agree with you, these kids aren't stupid. He sees the other commits we have coming in on the defensive side of the ball, and the fact of early playing time is a big factor, as with a few of these guys. If Miles makes a big move in terms of DC, and this kid sees us with a chance of having a great lights out D again... it could sway him to us since we'll have a better chance at contending atleast for the SEC again.
Re: 5Star DT William Campbell However, I do not think his visits have much to do with the health and needs of the program he may choose, maybe some but not much IMO. The main assumption is that he is just having some fun during the recruiting process. Look for him to stay with all his friends in this class and previous classes who are at UM. Also, he has a mother who has health concerns that lives close to Michigan. No doubt he likes what he saw at LSU and had a good time and he will have similar experiences on his future visits to other programs.
