I will do the heavy lifting for you. Here it is: 25. Alex Van Halen 24. Tommy Lee 23. Phil Collins 22. Camine Appice 21 Janet Weiss (never heard of her) 20. Chad Smith 19. Roger Taylor 18. Tommy Aldridge 17. Jeff Porcaro (Toto) 16. Danny Carey (Tool) 15. Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa) 14. Maureen Tucker (Velvet Underground) 13. Max Weinberg 12. Mike Portnoy 11. Dave Grohl 10. Ringo Starr (Along with the 2 chics, shouldn't even be on the list) 09. Ian Paice 08. Mitch Mitchell 07. Stew Copeland 06. Keith Moon 05. Bill Bruford 04. Charlie Watts 03. Ginger Baker 02. Neal Peart 01. Bonham There is so much wrong with this list.
You could go to a top 250 list and I wouldn't include Charlie Watts. As Neil (not Neal) once said,"I could play until I'm 100, but I couldn't play Neil Peart. I could play Charlie Watts."
Just seeing if you were paying attention. I agree, shit I think someone asked Lennon or one of those others a question about Ringo being a good drummer and they said "he isn't even the best drummer in the Beatles. Like I said, it's a jacked up list.
Ringo is a very good drummer but no way to 25. Bonham, Keith Moon, Ginger Baker all deserve to be on the list. It's all just somebody's opinion though. Technically the best 25 drummers in the world are probably all jazz drummers who most of us have never heard of.
I'll eliminate Ginger Baker entirely just for being a world class deuch lord. Asshole has never given a stand up shout out to quality drummers, but has all the time in the world to talk about what he hates. He's like rex on steroids
Yep, and if they are like their fans, they all have inferiority complexes. You'll never find a jazz fan who will give Neil Peart his due.
