^^ THIS. Just because one company cuts corners and operates on the cheap doesn't mean they all do. Punish the one that did it, not all of them.

I mean hell, Toyota had a batch of runaway Prius' (is the plural Priuses or Priui?).. Let's shut down all the car manufacturers. Hell, there's uncooked meat in 15,000,000 cans of spaghetti-o's... perhaps we should stop production of ALL canned food until they figure out how this happened.

Honestly, I would have run BP out of the way by now, and had Exxon and the other big dogs taking a crack at it. They've all offered their help, yet nobody seems to want it. BP is a big company, but they're not exactly the bee's knees in the oilfield industry.

Send your reply via a renewable energy source and I may take you seriously. Until then just continue with the hypocrisy.

I don't recall saying anything about "nuclear" but I would take it in a heartbeat over pretending windmills and using a single square of toilet paper are the answer.

Carbon footprint freaks don't live by their own rules. FRAUDS!

If there were a bunch of windmills in the gulf instead of Oil Rigs, what would happen if one of them exploded?

Sure they do and we should all be mad about what happened. To enact a moratorium to push a left wing ideology though is typical liberal BS! I'm tired of the "carbon footprint" lunatics using fossil fuels while bitching and moaning about them.

I think we should shut the entire industry down for a few weeks. Let's see how Pelosi or Gore will travel without using jets. Let's see Hollywood ride to the Academy Awards on bicycles. Let's see all of our global warming alarmists live without their car, plastics, etc.

We've taken a horrible situation and made it worse due to an out of control administration.

I guess we would have to take a sailboat out there to find out.

I'm just curious how you plan to fabricate the parts, construct the windmills, and service them without fossil fuels.

seems prudent to me, not left wing. politics shouldnt play into this.

start another thread if you want to talk about the global warming/cap n trade stuff. this is about oil in the gulf and marshes. hopefully you dont think thats a myth too.

there are plenty of people out there who get paid a whole hell of a lot more than i do that need to figure that out. If we can put people on the moon, and if the Saints can win the Super Bowl, this shouldn't be a problem.

No, $200M is NOT a lot of money, esp when BP alone posted a $6B profit for the first quarter of this year, profit that was double compared to last years first quarter. Many other oil companies also had big gains.

They are not shutting down an entire industry! All the deepwater rigs currently in production stage are still going. And there is no moratorium on shallow water drilling or production. Those rigs do have to meet new safety regulations so they may be a little slow to get back to full speed, but maybe they'll be safer and I find it hard to find fault with that.
