The interesting thing about our situation now is, if we win out (I know, that's a big if at this point), we will be in the race for the Rose Bowl up until Championship weekend guaranteed.

We will sit in 5th/6th more than likely after this week. Penn State has one more game, then they're done. If nothing else I believe we will pass them on Championship weekend. That puts us 5th.

If we win out, that means we beat Bama, that gives us 4th.

That leaves us watching Championship weekend with us rooting for 2/3 of Texas losing to Colorado, USC losing to UCLA, and Miami losing to Florida State. And THAT'S assuming that another upset doesn't happen between now and then.

We are a lot closer now to having a shot than we have been since the Tennessee loss. This is getting fun agin.

Penn State (unless they actually jump us in the human polls) LSU should be able to pass in the BCS rankings if LSU wins out.

If they jump us in the human polls, the bump we get in the computers for beating Bama, OM, ARKY and SECCG will not be enough.

The problem now is the 1 loss Miami team. If they win out there is almost no chance we can jump them in either the human or computer polls.

Although to be honest, I don't see Texas losing this year. Mack Brown has always been ripe for the picking in previous years, but I think they laid their egg last week v Okie State and were still able to win that game. I don't think the possible Colo match-up in the Big 12 CG strikes much fear in the Longhorns.

UCLA proved to be the fraud most thought they were, they can score some points maybe even some against USC, but unless USC simply stinks in game the rest of the year with a ton of turnovers or something I just don't see an upset on Trojan horizon either.

Although I will say I think VYoung will cause USC fits and as of today I would pick Texas to win that game if its played in the Rose Bowl.

LSU well we still have a lot of work to do and while looking at the BCS stuff is interesting and sometimes fun, the Bama game will be a true test and even Ole Miss and Arky are not pushovers and if we win those 3 we get a rematch with UF (who nearly beat us at home) or more likely UGA who has yet to lose when Shockley has started at QB for them.

So let's play out the schedule hopefully win em all--no easy task and dream of what might have been if not for a 21 point collapse in TS that fateful Monday night v Tenn sometime after we run the table.

Dreaming of Roses? Better go to Billy Heroman's then, because Texas and USC
ain't gonna lose before the Rose Bowl. Sorry.
