Because they each keep missing Xtra points. You should be able to trot out an eigth grader and be able to consitantly hit xtra points.
All of this stupid debating misses the point. Russell is the better talent and should start, but Saban was stupid for pulling Randall after the first drive. Rusell never stayed in long to find a rhythm. Randall's rhythm was ruined thanks to Saban and his stupid rotation. 2 QB systems DON'T WORK, NICK!!!!
Get a grip man Mauck was in no way prepared to play while Davey was the starter. Had he not been a running QB the SECCG in which Davey was hurt would have been a total disaster. Davey was CLEARLY the better of the two at the time. We don't have a clear number one at this time and most 2nd string QB's are far behind the #1. It is a rare case that there is little drop off between the #1 and #2. I never said that I favor a 2 QB system what I have said was that neither QB has stepped up and proven he is the man.
I tried to tell everyone to stick with 1 QB but everyone seems to think its an ok idea... http://www.tigerforums.com/showthread.php?t=19771
And there lies your (and Saban's) mistake. If you don't play ONE QB for 60 MINUTES, how can you possible tell which one is the man? When you choose a 2 QB system as a coach, you are basically saying that neither guy is the man. That kind of thinking kills your offense.
Then if both are not ready you put their names in a hat and come up with one. I love Saban and what he has done for LSU but this is retarded. Pick one win or lose just pick one and lets play ball. Mauck was ready to take over then and there, But would them team have resonded to him is a different subject.
Saban hasn't purposly chosen a two QB system, he isBEGGING for one to step up. I personally think he should start and stick with Russell which I said over and over the last two weeks. However it was a gigantic brain fart to pull Randall after a great opening drive. I HATE A TWO QB SYSTEM, but I hate a NO QB system even more and right now that is what we have.
