I have some doves (shiitpiles of them) hanging out near my house b/c there is a gravel alley nearby. I hear you can just pull their breasts off, wrap them in bacon and grill them and it tastes great. I have never eaten dove, but if y'all can confirm this, then I will probably start hammering them with a pellet gun and trying it out.

    Suggestions?

A guy that worked for me in WF would trap them, then just pull their heads off to kill them. He then cooked them like you mentioned. He said they were great.

yes they are awesome. you can also cook them down in onions with a gravy just like with rabbit or other game and serve over rice.

Dove meat can kill you if not prepared properly. Do not...repeat...DO NOT try to cook them yourself.

    Bring them to me.

Very frustrating trying to shoot them out of the air. If you can get them on the ground with a pellet gun more power to you. They are delish :thumb:

I prepare them this way. They are easy little birds to clean. I would pluch them half them trough the back and smother them in onions and make a little gravy.

I volunteer to supervise :thumb: Now I need to find a wine that goes well with doves. I have a family of morning doves that have been hanging around my house. That means I have no f'g cats in my neighborhood which is a very good thing. My motto: The only good dead cat is a flat dead cat !!!!
