Had planned on planting later in the week or early next week but saw 60-90% rain every day the next 10 days so went ahead and planted my little patch today. Not much just 100lbs millet but it's been productive the past several years so hopefully it pans out again. Now just waitin on the rain.
I've never understood how it can be legal to plant grain for doves but not ducks. Also with doves, you can be ticketed if found to be hunting them - EVEN WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE- in flight to or from a "baited" field.
The waterfowl rules are odd. Anything else you can plant and cut just for the game you want to hunt but for waterfowl it can only be actual agriculture. Fortunately bein my field is full of horses I am good to go on any of it but the ducks is something I've just never gotten in to. Tried it but I'd rather deer squirrel and rabbit hunt
