    Gumborue,

    We will be fine................

Take it Easy, the team is getting better game by game.
I can see an improvement overall between the Utah game and
    the UAB game.

I'm more happy because of the positives from the game.

WE CAN handle the pressure put on us in the backcourt using
traps, that says a lot for 1 thing, there's not many teams that
handle the pressure as well as we did last night.

You can say what you want about the freshmen, but they are
freshman and they are going to get better.

I am positive because we were able to win without hitting many
shots from the outside, struggling, that is a good sign.

Darrell Mitchell hit 2 big 3's when we needed them.
Hudson is playing hurt, he's hit 3's in the past.
I have seen Tack hit at least 1 and he'll get better.

Did you know Miss St beat UAB by 2 points??
and how bad did we beat them???

I will say right now that our team is more designed for and up and
    down offense vs half court.

    But

Look at the positives from the game, we were able to dominate
the boards in every game we played so far.
Look at the monsters we have inside.............................

I don't ever remember Shaq being able to receive the ball at the
top of the 3 pt line and drive to the basket like Jaime does.

I think that can help us in a tight game and is a +.

The team just needs a little more work with the zone.

I think you will be surprised by this team and I predict we'll lose
5 games at the most all year til tourney time.

Don't forget Brady's teams always plays good D and teams rarely
shoot 500 or better against them.

thats a good post above by sourdough.

lsu always plays tenacious ass D. with all the young talent they have, an the dual destroyers up front, i have some seriously high hopes.

i agree that with all the athletes lsu has they are well suited to the high paced running game. but also, brady always makes his teams so hard-working that they can be pretty stifling in the half court defense.

brady rules. his teams attack the boards and defend like crazy.

whats the timetable on hudson's ankle?

    go tigers.

    sourdoughman-
i think that's really optomistic of you to say only 5 losses at most. 11-5 in SEC play-not impossible, but i wouldn't bet a dime on that. i think we'll be lucky to be 9-7. this is a damn good league.
    sweep ole miss
sweep arkansas (maybe. tough road game)
    split alabama
    split auburn
split miss st (could easily lose both)
    L @ South Carolina
    W vs. Georgia
    W vs. Tennesee
    L @ Florida
    L @ Vanderbilt
    L vs Kentucky

its funny. i dont really disagree with anything in your post, just different expectations.

uab only stayed with miss st because thier guard went off for 36 or something. he was out for about 3 games before playing LSU. i guess that can mean miss st lacks a stopper, but uab was missing a lot of open shots. after watching us play, i don't know who we're gonna put on a great guard. it'll either have to be hudson or deny the ball.

after watching Tack Minor handle the ball the way he did, I have no doubts we will have trouble with any full-court pressure--including Kentucky's. That guy is super-quick and handles the ball very well under constant pressure. Brady just needs to discpline him to take better shots. I expect Minor to get a lot of PT against teams like Kentucky/Florida.

On the other hand, super frosh Regis Koundjia hasn't showed me anything except enthusiam, lots of hustle, good vertical, and decent rebounding skills. He throws up shots that have absolutely no chance of going in. Everytime he shoots a 3, he seems to miss whether he is wide open or guarded.

    gumborue,

I am very optimistic, your probably right about us going 9-7 but
If we can play Defense like Brady's teams do and control the
    boards we will win more.

I also think if I was coach of this team and we had a lot of trouble
with the half court offense I would go to a run and gun style on
    offense.

I did notice we were able to score a ton of points easily when we
were running and gunning and beating there press.

I think with the guards we have that might be the style we should
    play.

I guess the only way to judge that is around halfway of the SEC
season, looking at the stats shooting from the outside.

    If I was coach.
