1. Utah has players that could start for Bama. Bama has a a bit more that would start for Utah. Whoopty frickin doo, Utah is the better football team, probably the best in the country.
  2. Which is why the two coaches responsible are no longer employed by LSU.
  3. No, they just have a better coach.
  4. They beat a Bama team that we also should have beat, I wouldn't pencil them in as champions. While they are definitely a really really good team I'd like to see them play a real schedule and then win a bowl. My thought is that they would end up a lot like Texas Tech, a great season with a couple losses to quality opponents.
  5. Bama has far better talent than Utah starting, but they aren't really deep in it. Talent wasn't the issue, though. Yesterday's game was about a team that played smart and wanted it more than the other team.
  6. clearly. these bowls are about motivation. one team wanted to be there; one didnt.

most think all kids will be excited after a month off to play in a bowl regardless. couldnt be more wrong.

coaches can only try so hard. you can only tell your kids blue bayou is disney world so long before they catch on.
  7. Seems Utah wants it every single game, and gets what they want.

Talent is one of many variables in the equation, given too much weight here imo. Utah has enough to be #1.
You can spin the game, drum up excuses, explain away anything, but I saw the best football team in the country last night. It's easy to look like you don't want to be there when you're getting your azz handed to you.
  8. not excuses. just how it is. check bowl history and underdogs covering/winning. not coincidence.

was troy as good as LSU? no but they should have won. were they close in talent? not even half as talented.

    same thing here.

its usually easy to spot as soon as you see the matchups.
  9. Isn't every game, bowl or regular season?
  10. much moreso in the postseason. in the reg season you're still playing for something. the weedwhacker indy bowl against cal isnt quite the same as an sec rival.
