Sure he'll run up the score if given a chance. But if they can't do it against FSU, odds are it won't happen against Ark. And come the 4th quarter, we might be asking ourselves if Ark will run up the score.
Meyer will score all the points that he can, as early as he can. That is the formula for beating Arkansas. Nobody will stop their running game, LSU couldn't stop it with the best defense in the country. You beat Arkansas by getting ahead and staying there. You post 30 or 40 if you can and leave Arkansas down by two scores in the fourth quarter with the clock against them. I doesn't matter how well Arkansas has run the ball on you or how many points they post, as long as you are ahead by two scores in the fourth. Arkansas will be forced to pass the football . . . and they can't. Florida will not beat Arkansas by stopping the run, it will beat them by outscoring them, despite Arkansas moving the ball. Florida can score faster and that's what they will do.
Red is correct however if Arkansas can run like they did against us they have a shot at beating UF as long as they can score tds inside the red zone. I believe that is the key for Arkansas in this game if they can run. I don't believe Fla has the ability to outscore them, Fla's offense hasn't been able to do that all year. Once we had Arkansas down and the clock against them they looked like the same exact team that got beat by Usuck.
well what does it matter if Arky wins, that totally eliminates the essense of my question about Meyer and his perception of "style" point victories. I think Arkansas will win as well. But If, in the event Arkansas just falls flat on their Dick....I mean.....face.....
I dont see Florida having the oppertunity to run up the score. Arkansas will beat Florida. It is possible, I think LSU could have scored more points, putting the game away had they tried and not went conservative in the second half. Florida isnt as consisnt offensively as LSU and I dont see them stopping McFadden and Jones. Arkansas is a damn good team who will give hell to whoever they play in a bowl, Im hoping they whip up on ND.
