I must say you're a bigger man than i gave you credit for. Admitting that. You have been very outspoken agaisnt Randall, you are't the only one though. Good going for givin the young man his props. :thumb: I'd be JUST as happy to see them given to JR, and they will be. His ship will come in.
Um no I screw up all the time, next time i do, you're welcome to point it out. read my post above, it's not personal. I'm just calling those out that jumped to conclusions about Randall's career in CF being "over" :dis: I really respect the fact that you re-canted. good job. :thumb: Randall may never do anything again and Russell is still the future, but I think Randall deserved better than to be dismissed by so many fans when his playing was at EQUAL to that of his counterpart. I always maintained the O-Line needed to step up. and they did, Kudos to them too!
Yes idiot I said that and stand by what I said. If the two are equal what is it you don't understand about that? I never said JR was better what I have been saying is that neither was getting the job done which they were not. I have also said all along that I didn't care which one stepped up but that one of them needed to. MR stepped up tonight and played a great game, I couldn't be happier.
I am not a JaMarcus Russell basher. I am just praying that he has the smarts for the mental part of the game to complement his natural physical talent. ________ VAPIR NO2
Why is it dumb? Your thread is all about showing up those who prematurely wrote off MR. Then, Ramah comes in and, after 5 games, is ready to completely write off JaMarcus Russell for the 2005 season. Sorry if you disagree but I just think it was a dumb statement.
Well, I've said it before and nothing has changed, really. LSU is going to need both of these quarterbacks this year. There is not and has not been any reason for Nick to annoint one QB or the other when he can have both. Russell is a tremendous talent, but he ain't completely ready. He doesn't read defenses very well yet and sometimes reverts to playground style under pressure. Randall has a running game as well as an arm and most importantly he keeps his head in the game and reads defenses like the senior that he is. Still, he has bad days when he is off of his game. Nick and Jimbo now have two quarterbacks who can play. Russell is getting the vital game experience that he needs for next year. Randall is getting capable relief and doesn't have to go the whole game or bear the entire pressure of quarterbacking the youngest team in the SEC. Nick and Jimbo can play Russell when they need a big-play passing game to get ahead or to come from behind. They can play Randall to run a ball control passing and running game to protect a lead or to get an experienced eye in the game to deal with a stubborn defense. I have never understood why people feel like they have to support one QB and criticise the other. Russell's ankle injury and the memory of the loss of Mauck in 2002 should be a powerful reminder that one of these quarterbacks could go down at any time. If it happens, LSU will not have to put a totally green quarterback into the game. It is going to take both of these men for LSU to finish 9-2 and go to a major bowl again. Randall could have transferred to Southern and become a Black College All-American. Russell could have been intimidated by the commitments of Lane and Flynn and gone elsewhere. LSU is damned lucky that we have both Randall and Russell and Nick knows it if nobody else does.
Tigerskins, You probably were. I wouldnt worry about it too much, I'm just as likey to give you positive points, I don't hold grudges. and Saban fan, I guess I didnt understand what you meant. my apologies. Was he writing Russell off forever? not sure about that either. maybe so.
although I don't exactly consider myself an idiot, I did always get the feeling you were a Randal basher by some of your comments about pulling him if they are equal and playing the younger guy. Your quotes are there to see it. If that is incorrect then you have my apologies.
