kinda what i was thinking. the fact that he is reading something by a liberal is news, how? i hope he and john mccain both are reading far left books and far right books. i would like whoever is elected to be well read and looking at all view points, whether they follow those views or not.
The caption is silly. The notion that Obama is the most liberal candidate to ever run is not based on anything objective. Reading is not a "liberal" thing. it is a knowledge thing. "Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body." -- Sir Richard Steele It's amazing how some folks get caught up in a couple of smear rumors that have been long and widely discredited but are still apparently oblivious of the issues that matter. "The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought." --John F. Kennedy Because it's there, obviously. Well-read people choose a broad assortment of books to get a broad perspective. People are fed up with shallow, uninformed presidents wearing blinders. "If you know yourself but not your enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat." -- Sun Tzu
Agreed Good point, I agree for the most part. However, as mentioned previously, it's not just this book that bothers me about the guy. In addition, I'm not 100%, but I don't think he's reading it because he's a student Sun Tzu's teachings.
I admit, I'm using my own experience as basis for my concern. My father was a heavy influence in my life. Was Obama's? Look, I'm not saying he's a bad guy or if he's elected, he'll immediately join forces with Al Qaeda. I'm just saying it's something that concerns me.
