Does the USC win yesterday dampen the Sugar bowl?

I agree. Even as early as '97 when Michigan and Nebraska split the championship.

Ask someone from either school what happened in '97 and they'll all say, "That was the year we were National Champions"

 

I have it on good authority that Christine Brennan has not had sex in a good 9 months. In her frustrated state, she is known to blather on. Until she gets laid, I'm not interested in what she's selling.

I can promise you this: when the winner of the Sugar Bowl hoists that crystal trophy, USC will not be feeling content. They will be angry all over again.

 

rgf, you're just another USC homer whining on your hurt feelings. Get over it! The SB is the championship game and the two teams that are palying deserve to be there. There isn't nothing you can say or do that will change that! The winner of this one takes it all. By the way, who did you share that NC with 25 years ago?

 

I agree with dothan! USC can be the california national champs! The crystal ball is where it's at. Whoever holds that up can feel the glory.

 

OU cast a shadow on this game by getting routed by KSU.

OU is not a TOP 5 TEAM. IT WILL BE PROVEN SUNDAY.

OU is unworthy to be LSU's opponent and brings a BAD SMELL to the game.

LSU plays who they are told to play. PERIOD.

Sooner - I believe it was the same

Alabama team we beat in Birmingham that we shared that title with. It's been 25 long years since our last title.

Sorry if it sounds like whining to you. Obviously neither one of us will ever convince the other, as if that's important. My point is LSU could have won an uncontested National Championship, recognized by everyone if they had beaten USC in the Sugar Bowl. After they beat OU, they will have to share some recognition but will still be "National Champs". That's the only reason I think LSU got screwed.

I'm not sure how I would feel about it to be honest. I know we rag on Georgia Tech about their shared National title all the time. Of course I'd like to play in a better bowl game but thats all over now.

It certainly shouldn't have been a nail biter. We were up 24-0 before Richt decided to play Mariucci ball. It was no contest early. Fumbles, Fumbles, Fumbles. Gotta hang onto the ball.

Good luck tomorrow night. You guys are acting like its a foregone conclusion that LSU will whip OU. Hope you are right.
