He'll fit right in with our traditions, then. We already have the walk down victory hill and all... can't wait to get his reaction when the band comes down. And (a good bit of the student section, at least) stays until the end of the game to sing the Alma Mater.

Compare "let 'er rip" with Stoopsie at halftime of the Sugar Bowl.

I don't have the video clip here at work, but from what I remember, it was something like this, wasn't it?

"You mean... (sniff sniff) the best (sniff...whine) scoring defense... (sniff sniff sniff)...don't you? (wipes tear) Cuz we're (sniff) supposed to be the... (sniff) the best total...(sniff sniff...whine...sniff)...the best total defense...(sniff...sniff...cough)...aren't we? (blows nose)"

What I like most about his talk is that once it began then he started writing checks that his team couldn't cash. You know after his "find out which one is which" comment and his "Let 'er rip" comment his team went out and lost by 43 points!! I hope you enjoy him!

Hmmm... somebody sounds a little sour. He did beat the Sooners 2 of 4 times though, didn't he? In other words, he beat the flagship school of the state, the school with better athletes and more money, with the smaller program with inferior players? Twice?

    Yeah, I'll take him.

Plus, Miles got under sooner's skin one more time over the past few days. While OU is in Miami to play for the NC, all the lead off news for the past few days (up until today) was Les Miles and the coaching change. The local sports segments on the news would lead off with something like "we are in Sunny Miami, but the big news today continues to be Les Miles, yada, yada....." Pushing the sooners to the back burner for the first several minutes of the sports. I loved it! You could hear the grinding of teeth from sooner fans. Plus it was grabbing the newpaper headlines away the crimson and cream. Life can be good.....

Hopefully they'll be "great" enough for tonight though.
