Flynn's chances of winning the Heisman are about as good as mine at banging Cameron Diaz.

Heisman candidates don't come out of the blue. They are touted as sophomores and juniors and go into their senior year with high expectations and much publicity and lobbying by schools. Flynn has played one game of football for heavens sake and that was two years ago! The very question is absurd.

Now, will Glen Dorsey win the Outland Trophy and the Nagurski Trophy? Quite possibly!

Matt has the first thing a Heisman candidate needs, and that's a premiere spot on a top team. As for candidates not emerging out of nowhere, how about McFadden? He was a solid RB entering 2006, but nobody in July 2006 expected him to finish #2 in the voting or even get an invite as a finalist.

If he hangs really solid numbers, it's not impossible that he's in the mix. By "solid", I mean better than, say, Matt Mauck's 2003 numbers. The minimum for him would be 38 TDs, a TD to INT ratio of at least 2.5 to 1 (e.g., 38 TDs-10 INTs), and a ton of yards.

He'll definitely have to outpace Booty, IMO. He won't lead the nation in QB stats, as Brennan will hang insane numbers for Hawaii.
