Re: Does anyone else see this year as an opportunity for Matt Flynn to win the Heisma I see this as an opportunity for him to gain national attention and significantly increase the value of his stock vis-a-vis the NFL draft. But the Heisman is a bit of a stretch.
Re: Does anyone else see this year as an opportunity for Matt Flynn to win the Heisma John Brady has a better chance of receiving the "Legends of Coaching" award than matt flynn winning the heisman. just a little perspective for you.
Re: Does anyone else see this year as an opportunity for Matt Flynn to win the Heisma With Saban it was zilch- not only for players but he didn't even let the asst coaches near a mike.
Re: Does anyone else see this year as an opportunity for Matt Flynn to win the Heisma Exactly. I think if we saw Flynn average 200 pypg, 2 TD ppg and tack on about 25-50 yrpg, we'd take it. Personally, most of your Heisman candidates--the ones that are the frontrunners for the award anyways--are usually highly campaigned for by their respective universities...and with Miles' "team first" attitude, I don't see him lobying heavily for one player. ...and to be frank about it, I prefer it that way. The Heisman award is SOOOO political. The award has typically only gone to a player who's team is either undefeated, playing for a national championship, or in a BCS game. Too many times you hear annalysts say, following a loss by the Heisman candidates team, "Well, his Heisman chances took a hit...". Garbage I say. I also don't understand how a team can have more than one candidate? I mean, I understand it, but I don't agree with it. With USC, was Leinhart's stats better because of Bush's ability to force a defense to over-react to him every play or was Bush's stats better because Leinhart could make the big throw downfield, taking the DB's away from the line of scrimmage?? Take one of them away and where would the other be? Which is why I honestly thought Vince Young should have won the award two years ago. Without VY, Texas doesn't win the Big XII and doesn't reach the Rose Bowl let alone win the National Championship. Brady Quinn benefitted from playing the service academies and padding his stats against those guys...and he floundered terribly vs any and all teams resembling even just the stiffest of competition. Truth be told, when you have a Heisman candidate, it almost forces you to HAVE to go to them in those big situations rather than allowing you to have faith in other players on your team. So, in short, I'd rather have 11 guys on offense all knowing that they're Heisman candidates in my eyes.
Re: Does anyone else see this year as an opportunity for Matt Flynn to win the Heisma No. If it happens, you just saw a miracle. I think we have a better shot at going undefeated, and that's a long shot.
Re: Does anyone else see this year as an opportunity for Matt Flynn to win the Heisma No. He is not getting any consideration for it now, so he wont have a shot. Unless he puts up absolutely amazing numbers.
Re: Does anyone else see this year as an opportunity for Matt Flynn to win the Heisma glad to see you've finally extricated yourself from his ass
Re: Does anyone else see this year as an opportunity for Matt Flynn to win the Heisma still feel the same as always about brady. you are the one needing to see skip aint making a change. it costs money much like contributing. you and skip have a lot in common. no wonder you dont like him.
Re: Does anyone else see this year as an opportunity for Matt Flynn to win the Heisma That's just incredible. Therein lies the problem. He hasn't had "Exposure" cause he hasn't played, so if he hasn't played, on what basis could be be considered?
