If he's gonna give Washington credit, then maybe he should give more props to Ohio State. They destroyed Washington, something his #1 team couldn't do.
Very good point about our Arnold, Early, Alexander, and Favorite not playing. Dodd praises USC for winning w/out 2 OL starters but gives LSU no credit for winning without our starters, some for multiple games. I wish I would've thought about this when I wrote the Dennis "Dee Dee Dee" Dodd.
I think many voters look at it like, "Has USC done anything to deserve to be demoted?" I guess this is the first week they felt like USC's performance didn't warrant staying at #1 simply because that's where they started. You're fully right that LSU has been as impressive, if not more so, as USC against better competition. I don't like the way poll voters revere the preseason poll, but it seems like a long tradition they hold pretty steadfast to. All this is moot if we lose, and it is something LSU shouldn't spend much energy on. Florida is next, and good, so here's hoping that we get the wrinkles from last weekend kinked out and we're ready to play. :geauxtige
