Why do you imagine that he owes accounting to YOU! He ignored a teacher and broke no law. That shit happens every day in every school. You keep talking about his accountability and that he should not be excused. But you shuck and jive and call people turds when pressed on it. Accountable for what, excused for what? Being a foolish kid? I wasn't there....you weren't there. The exact questions and answers have not been made public. Maybe you know something we don't.
Did I say that? Nope. He doesn't owe me anything. Repeat.....I wish the hero worship had been nonexistent in favor of being held accountable for his choices. Get your glasses fixed. No shucking and jiving. I have made by opinion quite clear. He and his family have some accountability and responsibility in the situation.....somebody got the ball rolling here and it wasn't the school or the cops. Once the overreaction by the police occurred, then everything went the wrong direction. At this point, he is popular, getting all kinds of positive attention, gets to meet the President at the WH (which will be a media firestorm), gets to meet with Fuckerburg, gets college offers. I called you "turdish" because you brought up the cuffs after I repeatedly said it was wrong and not the correct "punishment". I don't even agree that punishment is what's called for and that ship has sailed anyway. I've read the comments that he and his family/family attorney have put out as well as the media reports. I read his twitter account that his sisters created. I watched the press conference he gave. I didn't need to be anywhere to form my opinion.
If the kid had been white, black, Hispanic or Asian we would probably not even know about it. It wouldn't have made a media splash and given liberals a chance to show their willingness to grab their ankles and get ready to take it up their asses in a sickening display of muslim love. There would be no invitation to the White House, no scholarship to MIT. If we even knew about it we would just say he did a stupid thing. But Ahmed is a muslim. Due to the realities of who is doing the terrorist acts any unusual act by any muslim bears investigation and the closest scrutiny. Now it has come out that Ahmed planned it for the media attention and that he didn't even make the device. It was store bought. Worked out pretty good for the little fuckhead didn't it?
Do you refuse to accept that it may have been a completely innocent project that got misconstrued and blown out of proportion by others? You keep using terms like accountability and responsibility like the kid is guilty of something insidious. So is that what he is "guilty" of? The police overreaction got media attention for a kid. It's all about Obama, now.
It's too bad you feel this way. I understand the temptation to take that line of thinking. Trust me, I really do. And in many of the same ways that you do I am sure. That said, I have had enough experiences with moderate Muslim people to know, first hand, that they are not all alike. Especially here in the US. Muslims who live in Muslim countries are one thing, Muslims here in the states, by and large, are secularized and enjoy our way of life. There are exceptions of course, like the blind dude in the UK, but most Muslims who live in modern states do not have the blood lust for jihad the way their counterparts do from the middle east.
we agree on this no, it hasn't "come out." if so, let's see your links because I am willing to bet they are conservative blogs and not actual news sources. geez you guys sure are sheep when it comes to believing this shit. I read Winston's post from the Daily Beast about other "nerds" denouncing what he was making as not a fraud, etc. I take that with a grain of salt. For a 14 year old kid to disassemble something and re-assemble it in a new housing is not actually an invention, but it is also not outside the bounds of reason to believe that the kid thought of it as an "invention." It couldn't technically be an "invention" any ways because the clock was invented long ago. It was a contraption and that is what he should have called it, rather than an invention. That said, he's 14 and he used the wrong terminology for God's sake. There isn't one shred of evidence that he had any kind of poor intent.
Then why don't we hear more about them? Ever wonder that? Nah bruh you will have to come stronger than "I'm sorry you feel that way" you are standing in the rain with your mouth open my man.
I posted earlier in this thread where he had planned the whole thing for the media attention. Whether the idea was his or maybe his father's I don't know. There has been surprisingly little information about the father other than the initial release that he had gone back to Sudan to run for president. What is the source of the family's income? It might have been other nerds in Winston's post but who better than a nerd to recognize the device for what it was? When I was a kid I made a crude radio out of a kit. It worked but was hard to tune into stations and the little speaker was useless for listening to music. I was younger than 14 but I would never have called it an invention. The very fact hat he is a muslim means that suspicious behavior such as what he did should be more thoroughly investigated than it apparently has been whether he is technically innocent of any lawbreaking or not.
Do words or actions matter more, Shane? We should judge Muslim-Americans by the actions, not by their words. Insinuating that ordinary, American Muslims owe an apology for the actions of some mad men is crazy. When radical Christians blow up abortion clinics and kill people do you feel the need to apologize on their behalf? Of course not because they are responsible for their own actions and you have done nothing to aide or abet.
