On campus at least student backpacks have gotten huge. 30 years ago they were small knapsacks, now they look like something you'd hike the Appalachian trail with.

The danger here is with the precedent that has now been set. The next time a teacher or school admin sees this type of thing at school will no doubt have this situation run through their minds. They will probably say "oh its just a silly clo

The outrage at this incident is comic. Any idiot, in this day and time, brining something with wires, timers, batteries, hell anything into a school should be suspended just on stupidity alone. Not to mention he is muslim male, a demographic that is not exactlly guilt free when it comes to wires, batteries, etc.

Not sure if taking him out in handcuffs was all that spiffy, but he needed and ass chewin and a suspension, not coddling from the Muslim in Chief.

If you look at the videos, those guys boarding the planes they later flew into the World Trade Center did not look all that bad, either. Well, that's the breaks, kiddo. Eat pork!

Yes, arresting and handcuffing little Ahmed at the point in time they did was an error in judgement. He should have been detained somewhere like the principle's office and watched by a police officer until it was ascertained whether or not the metal case contained any explosives or a detonatior.

It's also pretty fucked up that half the world including the president of the United States to bend over backwards to avoid offending muslims.

Ahmed is 14. It is well known that ISIS recruits children that age and even younger to perpetrate terrorist acts.
What do we know about Ahmed? For starters his father who lives in the USA traveled to Sudan to run for president of that sand dune. That says he has money and still has powerful connections to the muslim world and that he is not interested in assimilating himself or his family into American society.

Ahmed's mother and sisters still wear traditional Islamic women's clothing by the famous muslim designers at Death to America House of Fashion. They like reaping the fruits of living in the USA but they are not interested in throwing off the habib of women's oppression and assimilating into American life.

Little Ahmed said the "clock" was one of his inventions. Duh, clocks were invented a long, long time ago:

The first mechanical clocks, employing the verge escapement mechanism with a foliot or balance wheel timekeeper, wereinvented in Europe at around the start of the 14th century, and became the standard timekeeping device until the pendulumclock was invented in 1656.

I doubt that the ragheads had clocks in the 14th century. Maybe they kept track of time by the length of time it took for camel dung to stop stinking. Long before the invention of the Kalashnikov and the IED.

So what was little Ahmed's real intent on bringing a metal case full of wires to school?

the only problem with this response is that the teachers DID NOT call a bomb squad. They didn't even evacuate the school. Either of which, you would think should have been standard protocol if they really believed this was a bomb. It was not a bomb and they knew that. BUT because it scared someone, either a teacher, the administration or the police decided that they needed to administer some kind of punishment in order to make a point.
I am not naive to the world. I realize that there are 14 year olds who do all sorts of bad things. Unfortunately, even younger some times. That said, Ahmed is no where near one of those kids and his academic record alone reflects that. This is a smart kid, not some thug. why are you defending the hysteria of adults?
