Right....play that card, it's easy. That kid is far more intelligent than you give him credit for. Did he not start off with a muslim greeting that in part, indicates a promise of not doing harm?

If he was white, would Obama have invited him?

And what of a school that waits until harm occurs? You sue then, too, right?

Yea, Alex Skarlatos is already a contestant on Dancing With the Stars. Glad the WH got in on his calendar.

Fair enough and mea culpa. I was making my way through the thread and was on page 4 or 5 when I first replied. The responses then came fast and furious so I missed about 10 pages of reading.

I suspect red will be along any minute to tell you not to put words in my mouth or claim to know how I feel.

Ahmed and his family own this one IMO. Obama and the rest of the lefty attention getters come second. Did you see how quickly Ahmed's sisters set up a twitter account for this? People in this country are so batshit crazy for attention. I'm sick of it.

Yes, a problem. I'm not sure what my personal threshold is because I haven't been tested, but this is not something I would sue over or demand someone's termination. Taking a personal inventory of my part in the situation would come first.

So the Islamic Center of Irving is all over this to get the islamophobia message out. But not that long ago, they had plenty to say about Ahmed's dad.

"This so-called leader, we have never heard of this person,” Imam Zia ul Haque Sheikh, head of the Islamic Center of Irving, told the Seattle Times. “I believe the whole thing is made up". I guess Mohammed's a self-proclaimed sheik who has returned to Sudan twice to run for President and still refers to Sudan as his country. He also played some strange roll in the Terry Jones debacle so at least locally, this family is well known.

I think Ahmed is a very intelligent and capable young man. I don't think he meant any harm. However, he didn't apply the other end of the thought process in terms of his actions. What are the potential consequences and outcomes? When his science teacher told him to put the clock away, why did he disobey?

    Indeed.

Now you are not paying proper attention. And you will stop at nothing to turn every thing you see into an anti-Obama crusade. Many non-muslims have been invited to the white house including the three American heroes you just mentioned! The kid was humiliated and treated badly when he did nothing wrong. How does it hurt you that the President might try to make him feel a little better. This kid was an American whose parents have been here for 30 years. How exactly has Obama been against Christians and American heroes? Be specific.

I agree that the Governor did the best job possible and it's important to note the unbalanced media attention and the total rush to judgement on BOTH sides.

A month after the event and trying to fit it into Skarlato's schedule in between practicing for DWTS.

He was humiliated. I don't disagree. However, to say he did nothing wrong is, well, wrong. Other than missing several opportunities to do things the right way, do you think that disobeying his science teacher's instructions to put the clock away and not show it around was wrong?

Obama could simply have called him. He could have simply offered him some encouragement or even said he would be following Ahmed's career. But no, he tweeted an invite to the WH. So over the top.

Ahmed is American. His dad who has been here for 30 years, refers to the Sudan as his country and returned home within the last year to run for President.
