Massive overreaction. He and his family made a really stupid thoughtless choice that involved the potential safety of other children. As a parent, I wouldn't be okay with that happening at my kid's schools. I acknowledged the handcuffing was over the top. You? You still think Ahmed is "just a kid".
plenty, my son brings his projects to school to his teacher at 4. She encourages and its no apart of homework or anything. she tells the to invent and they do. but lets make this kid a criminal in you eyes.
Like you or anyone else in the mainstream, including Obama, would look at that and think it was a clock.
yes and i also think you are paranoid and its clouding your judgement. how did this involve the safety of other children, it wasnt dangerous at all. harmless in fact.
The class time of a 4-year old is hardly comparable. As kids get older and classes are impacted, there isn't time for individual project presentations. Why not ask the teacher in advance and show a picture of the project? Just showing up as if it's a random show and tell is stupid. I'll add.....last year my 6th grader was participating in a History program called Walk Through....from 4th-6th, they spend one day "walking through" first CA, then the US, and finally Ancient Egypt. Kids are assigned historic roles to play and my son was assigned to be Spartacus. He has a couple of play swords, one wood and one plastic. I told him he couldn't bring either because I didn't want him to get in trouble for bringing a weapon.
what in his past other than being a muslim has said this kid is trouble. Yes he is a kid, a child , a minor.
Should a kid that is a skinhead receive the same leniency you are suggesting? See to me Islam is a religion of hate. Just like being a skinhead, they preach hate. I'm sorry but the fact that he is a Muslim automatically makes me suspicious. This doesn't have anything to do with race, this is religiophobia if that's even a word, and I'll freely admit that.
I'm sure the parents of children who have been evacuated due to bomb threats wouldn't find me paranoid at all. My judgement is not clouded....at all. Ahmed made a science project that does not look like what it is. He brought it to school. That is a game-changer. He did not follow the teacher's instructions to put it away. He brought it to another class, in which a science project had no place, and he plugged it in. Guess what? His project worked and it made a noise. Now, because of all the school's actions, Ahmed is some sort of hero and Obama is his buddy. Just freaking unreal.
