It is about the complete overreaction to what happened. As I have stated before, we are the greatest overreacting country in the world. Everything has to be hyperbole these days.
pal, you pointed out one single facet of the discussion that I missed. I admitted that I missed it and praised the Chief for apologizing and reaching out. what else do you have, really? everything else I stand by. If you've got something to refute any of that then say so. If not, then you are the one who needs to stop.
On this we agree. From start to finish this has been an over reaction. I will include the WH visit into that in fairness.....scholarships too.
It appears the the governor of Texas agrees with you: “The last thing we want to do is put handcuffs on a kid unjustifiably,” he said. ” Just call this a tragic situation. It looks like the commitment to law enforcement may have gone too far and didn’t balance all the facts.” Abbott said that police must balance creating a safe environment and protecting civil rights, and that it appears it didn’t happen in the case. “One of the most important things that law enforcement and school officials can do is to insure the safety and security of students in the classroom,” Abbott said. “At the same time we want to create an environment where children feel they can go learn.”
the White House invite is a bit much and over reaching. id like to see this with families of murdered cops and black men.
Well at @red55 and @Tiger in NC you should give Gov Abbott props as being the adult in the room especially compared to our poor excuse of a president. As you should know from my one post here and the likes I've given, I agree there was a tragic and ridiculous overeaction by the authorities that day. It seems the president has followed in the same fools' footsteps in his action. You may wonder why so many feel the president is unfairly favoring Muslims and Islam against Christians and American heroes. Well this is an example, he brings this kid to the White House yet has nothing for the 3 Americans who stopped the massacre on the Paris train. He brings Bergdahal's parents to the rose garden when he is likely a deserter as WAS known at the time. He seems to lose no time in sympathizing with victims of police crime yet shows much less regard for police victims of crime. This has been a constant of his 2 terms and rubs too many the wrong way.
you may want to rephrase this, he just had those 3 guys at the White House I saw the pictures yesterday.
