Yes, USC had the #1 class. It's time to let the hatred for SC go. In 03 they had a great year and got screwed out of playing for a :crystal: . They beat the snot out of Mich and the AP voted them #1. How is any of this USC's fault? If we're going to still be bitter, we should be pissed at the AP voters, not USC. They haven't played dirty, they haven't commited any violations (as far as we know), and for the most part their players have stayed out of trouble. I would love a chance to beat them on the field, but not because I hate USC. It's because everybody wants to knock off the team at the top, and right now that's them (well, really it's Texas, but people still would rather beat USC).
The point i was making on USC is their is no doubt they got some fine skill players . But alot of their talent is focused in those positions and they got very little help in the offensive and defensive lines. You got to have the guys in the trenches too. Maybe USC should be offering that star on the walk of fame to some lineman . For my thoughts for well rounded classes i would choose Florida, Georgia , or Fla. St over USC.
I don't know enough about USC's depth & experience already on their roster to look at their recruiting class & see how well it addressed their needs. I feel that, if LSU gets Keiland, we will have answered all of our needs & I feel comfortable with this signing class. Texas's QB situation is still a bit of a dissapointment to me, as it must be for their fans as well. Some good ones, but no great ones the past 2 seasons. I don't feel Florida properly addressed their needs. Georgia, Bama & Auburn did a good job of getting players to fit into their system.
usc goes after smaller faster lineman. they can do that because of the scheme they play. and yes they have the number 1 class. now "Nothing USC and their low life Coach would do would surprise me !!!" What the hell has PC done to make him a low life? he accepted the ap trophy, that what it is? listen this crap about usc needs to stop. they aren't cheating and whining. if anything us lsu fans fine about this much more then them. I hate them as much as the next person but its stupid to make these kinda of comments about then when they are factless and based on nothing. CAN WE PLEASE JUST DROP IT ALREADY?
But they didn't. They recruited a lot of 5 & 4 star guys, and are close to stealing our prize recruit. There is a reason they are ranked #1 - not because of the "media conspiracy"
The question was how many of us believe USC is the #1 class. I indicated I did believe they have the #1 class and further indicated that if LSU had the same recruiting numbers, there would be no argument that the Tigers had the #1 class.
Let's at least make a stab at trying to be objective and fair. I dislike USC intensly, but from what I can see, they do have the #1 class.
One comment i will say is i went and looked at the video of the other 2 running backs we signed and even if Keiland goes elsewhere we are going to be great with these guys. Scott is a Broussard / Toefield type and Murray is a Joa Addai type with some fluid moves. Dont know if they can come in and take over this year but i am really impressed with them. I am happy with our RB class with these 2 .
